They reckon its just down to money but not sure we'd offer any more than Palace would.

Maybe he just think the Pozzos are better to work with than the Palace guys..?

Sure he is prepared to take the risk of being sacked next summer if things don't go well - afterall most people in football have a big ego and think they won't fail.

Think we will see Success play a heck of a lot more with his style of play which will be great for us and Success' confidence.

Actually the fact that he may only last a year would mean a handsome payoff would be coming his way. And getting sacked by Watford, happens to everyone these days.

Didn't have the heart to tell him Mazzarri left 2 weeks ago. Clearly trying to start up a transfer account on Instagram.

Matt Holland, Friday evening, was very negative about Silva slumming it here, but Adrian Durham seemed surprised and asked him to justify saying it, and Georgie Bingham this morning was saying it's a good fit for both parties with Cascarino backing her up.

I think Talk5hite does frequently live up to that name, particularly when Durham is on air, but they give voice to lots of different opinions, and for every bit of crap, there's usually something decent to balance it out.

Flawed they may be, but still a million times better than the poop that 5Live squeeze out from between the Beeb's butt cheeks every day.

Silva is looking to bring in his own goal keeping coach which could be the end of PDT. Could be blood on the Pozzos hands if that happens.

Durham is ok if he isn't trying to wind somebody up (and it usually works!) - mainly Arsenal fans who Talksport generally seem to love hating!

Danny Kelly is good although doesn't half like the sound of his own voice.

Not so keen on the Sportsbar - basically if it is isn't Man U or Chelsea Goldstien and Cundy don't care.

As for 5live - well the fact Savage/Claridge and Sutton seem to be top pundits says it all!

Looking at Silva's record for each season, from Estoril through, he looks to have a tactical style very similar to QSF.

Very tight at the back, concede as few goals as possible, a lot of wins by the odd goal with 2 or 3 goal wins against the bottom sides. Clearly he sets his teams up to work and defend hard.

I suspect we will finish somewhere in the region of WBA, Southampton, West Ham and Stoke, all who do the same

To be fair that is all we can do in terms of our resources. We will never be able to compete financially with the top 5 or 6 who will attract the most skilled players and pay the highest wages. If we went gung-ho we would regularly suffer big defeats. I know Leicester managed it, but they were a one off where everything clicked for them.

We should have been mid table this year - but for the complete collapse in relations between players and Mazz in the final ten games or so. I believe our aim should be to be top of the "rest". Bournemouth managed 9th so that is hardly stretching ambition too far for us.

Most are just Benfiquistas who find it funny that he (seemingly) chose Watford over Porto.

As it's looking more likely now thought I best read up a little bit about Silva. Decent short managerial career so far, couple of strange sackings / resignations though. One for not wearing the club suit and he resigned for 'personal reasons' at another. Still, looks a good appointment and has at least had some experience in the Prem.

I wonder if he has always been on the Pozzo radar or if they have been swayed by his short spell at Hull (which isn't their style really)

I think that how he decides to staff and handle medical & fitness is almost as important as the mgr selection.

I'm not desperately excited about this appointment but if the squad gets the surgery it needs I'll be optimistic we'll be able to replicate the last two seasons and stay well clear of the relegation battle.
