The thing is, he made his stance beforehand, and does not have to humility and grace to backtrack and say maybe he was wrong. I didn't hear him slate other sides that made multiple changes to their squads.

He sees the headline "11 changes" and automatically jumps on the bandwagon of 'not taking the FA Cup seriously'. Let's take a look at the side we put out on Saturday.

A goalkeeper that's made 239 Premier League appearances and 11 full international caps for Brazil
Our most expensive defender who has made 124 Premier League appearances and 34 full international caps for Holland
A centre back that has made 220 Premier League appearances and 41 full international appearances for his nation.
Another centre back that's made 139 Serie A appearances and 64 Premier League appearances.
A left back who has made 124 Serie A appearances and represented Italy at U21 level.
A midfielder who made his full England debut this season.
Another midfielder who is considered by many to be the next wonderkid, who has represented Portugal at every level of his age group.
Another midfielder who has played 29 times already in the first team this season.
A striker who has played 22 first team games this season.
Another striker who has only just got his work permit sorted out and has represented his country 13 times.

It may have been eleven changes but it's testament to the strength of Watford's squad. Had we lost 3-0, then yes, you could point the finger, but we didn't. We won 2-0 and played well.

His argument is that the fans travelling at that way will have felt ripped off. I suspect the fans that went on Saturday would be far happier on the way home, than the fans who made the trip for the league match.

Paul Merson (surprise, surprise) was also digging us out over it. He said he hoped we'd draw to get a replay, just to mess our fixtures up, then pick Man City away as the next tie so we get knocked out.

We upset the established order because we do not conform. We do our own thing our own way and are being successful. They just hate it.

Let's be honest, these guys are just c***s.

I don't think it's fair to criticise Sutton & Merson for being c***s. Both their parents are c***s and all 4 of their grandparents are c***s too. I dont think there's much they can do about it. Their DNA is 100% c***. Basically, they were born to be c***s. They were raised by c***s to be c***s and the c***s who raised them were also raised by c***s. It was inevitable even before they were born that they would be c***s. Im not sure what they could have done in their lives to avoid being c***s. Maybe their employers could offer some kind of cognitive behaviour therapy to make them less of a c***t but to be honest it can be quite expensive and im not sure if it would work in their cases.

Why do you whoppers let pundits upset you? There's no hidden agenda, they are just saying whatever they think will get people talking about them and thus boost viewing/listening figures next week.

This forum never fails to amuse me after a match, seeing the usual suspects fizzing at the mouth with outrage.

I, and all the pundits, are roaring with laughter at you.

Just to shut Chris up then.
Do any of the fans on here who travelled up feel short changed or like we disrespected the cup?
    I’ll add a poll

I prefer our second string to our first eleven to be honest.

But really, any watford fan that has been going to away matches for any period of time does not do so expecting a feast of football. The 90 mins is rarely the highlight of the day.

The poll is binding. Even in the event of a slight win for Chriszit we will enter a 2 year period whereby we will give formal notice to Chris Sutton he will be leaving the U.K.

I wasn't sure which way to vote so I checked my facebook feed. There was some very helpful impartial information about the vote. So now Im 100% convinced about who to vote for. 'square footballs'? not in my name!!

And yet Sutton spent most of his career outside the monied elite, except for his time at Celtic, a big fish in a rockpool - Norwich, Blackburn (temporarily famous), Chelsea (when they were only just starting to be famous) and a few end-of-career games at Brum and Villa.

And his less talented dad played for Norwich, Chester and Carlisle

I think linking to every "Sutton" mention in this thread would overload the BB's servers so here's a completely non-representative story about Sutton from the ever wonder P O P B I T C H:

He's always been an abrasive character and extremely sure of himself. He won one England cap and did OK. He was then picked for the U21s at a time when they were hopeless. He refused the call-up, saying that this was a no-win situation and never got selected at any level again.

But as my wife tells me (and would no doubt tell Meister if she ever got the chance), if another driver does something offensive on the road, remember that you don't know what sort of a day he or she has had. Some presumptuous fan at Blackburn may have upset Sutton just before the incident reported. Or he may just be an obnoxious ****

I think the chances of Sutton being a real top guy but just happening to be upset by someone/something tragic in his life EVERY time he opens his mouth is pretty slim.

But he might be a below-average guy who when upset that time fell further.

I went Saturday knowing full well that we would make a fair few changes, maybe not all eleven but a fair few. On seeing the team I was quite happy to who had been picked. As HB1 pointed out, these are not reserve players that are rubbish like we used to put out in the League Cup a few years ago, these are full internationals. Some of them have masses of experience and some are just making their way in the game so it was a good mixture. Sutton is a bit of a pillock but actually saying he wonders if the fans felt short changed having seen the team I don't mind because actually it's a fair question.
Merson on the other hand saying he hopes we go out just because of a team selection just proves what an utter bell end he is. He forgets that Arsenal have been doing the same for years.

If you had consumed as much alcohol and narcotics as Merson, you probably wouldn't even remember your own name, let alone utter anything coherent!

Merson used to buy his coke from Watford.

    Think it brings back memories.

Au contraire. All the Geordies on A. N. Other site have been extremely complimentary and are even pointing out that they now have a team to support as disinterested neutrals in the final:

Oh they probably don't mind us - could just use the fact we are there as a stick to beat Ashley with saying if teams like us can get to a final so should they.

Objectively speaking, yes. I'm more interested in winning the Cup for the qualification in to the Europa League than I am for actually winning the Cup per se. I also very much doubt that the final will be too much of a contest.

Having said that, I still have a bit more anticipation for the final than I'd expected to.

Perhaps people should look at the 2 teamsheets:
From the team that played at Newcastle 7 played a part on Sunday. 3 others on the bench at Newcastle played Sunday. Only Britos, Wilmot, Panaranda & Chalobah from the Newcastle match were not involved on Sunday.

Not really - they're a bit worried as the £150M Ashley's just lost could have a very big effect what's going to happy to the side and, more importantly, whether Rafa will stay...

Here's a very concise summary of what's going on at the moment. FWIW I've always described Ashley to them as a 'Poundshop Pozzo'.

That definitely wasn't worth our league form being blown up for.
