    Karnezis really isn’t anything special, and Gomes’ best days are sadly behind him. £4-5m for Fabianski is excellent business IMO and we’d be foolish not to be making enquiries.

    So with rumours of Fabianski and Butland, I wonder where that leaves Dahlberg. He's Sweden's number one.

    Karnezis returns to Udinese, Gomes is fighting 1st Choice with Fabianski, Dahlberg loaned out for a year. Bachmann still 3rd choice. After that Gomes retires, Fabianski position reviewed and Dahlberg comes in as 2nd choice fighting 1st choice.

    As Fabianski is already 33 and Dahlberg is only 18 or 19, I would imagine Fabianski would probably be installed as no 1 with Dahlberg looking to be his successor in 2 to 3 seasons time, unless of course Dahlberg can challenge for the number 1 slot sooner.

    Therefore I think that the most likely scenario if we do manage to land Fabianski is that he will be our No1 at least initially, and Gomes hopefully may become a player coach and fill in as no2 for the time being with Dahlberg maybe going out on loan for another season, leaving Bachmann in the No3 slot.

    Then in 2019/20 Fabianski will again start as our No1 with Dahlberg as No2 but challenging for the No1 slot, Gomes will probably drop down to No3 or retire as a player all together, in which case would again leave Bachmann as our perrenial No3.

    Of course if we managed to land Butland instead of Fabianski, then Dahlberg would probably remain No2 for quite a few more years or more likely be sold on at a fair old profit before his contract comes up for renewal.
