Been probably their best player over the last few years, can't fault him for their relegation. Would be happy with this, where it leaves Gomes and Dahlberg, I'm not sure (I'm guessing Karnezis will be off), but Fabianski is a better option in the short-term than any of those

    Agreed.
Together with Pope on a rope and Dubonet at Toon,LF has impressed me this season.
Moreover we don't have a Pole do we?

33 year old for 5 million? Would rather keep Karnezis as he's most likely the cheaper option.

Any rumour that starts "Premier League Club 1, Premier League Club 2 and Watford are all monitoring/interested in..." is bollox. How many of our signings in the last three years have been ones where we've outbid another Premier League club for someone?

From what I have seen of him, he would be an upgrade on what we have. It’s a yes from me.

Not saying you're wrong but who did we outbid? I thought we were the only ones linked but I might have missed it.

The only one I can think of where we were reported to have really fought off competition was to get Sinclair ahead of Bournemouth. In their face!

Brighton were linked and some Brighton fans I know were convinced it was a done deal. Thankfully they were wrong!

Good 'keeper that I was in favour of signing until I read this article and realised he was 33. Surely go for someone a *bit* younger?

Yeah, 19-year-old Sweden international Pontus Dahlberg. Apparently he's mint, but you know how it is with youngsters sometimes. If it's something like Fabianski in Dahlberg as understudy with Gomes joining the coaching staff and Karnezis going to Olympiakos, I think that would be best

Probably right there. But would rather have one of Scuffet or Meret from Udi. I dare say Fabianski is a good keeper, but would prefer our money being spent more wisely in defensive areas. Which is a must in my opinion.

Fake news. Why would Spammers be in the race? They've already got Hart.

Under the Pozzos, the average age of our keepers has been 36.

This Dahlberg lad has a long apprenticeship to serve.

Difficult to see where he fits in, doesn't seem to be as precocious as Dahlberg

I'd bring in Dahlberg keep Bachman and have them both competing for the No1 shirt. Gomes as goalkeeping coach but also on the squad list if needed. That's one place taken up and 2 under 21's rather than 3 squad places taken by goalkeepers.

"Watford are in pole position to sign Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski in a £4million deal.

The Hornets want to sign a new No.1 with veteran Heurelho Gomes out of favour and error-prone loanee Orestis Karnezis on his way out.

And the Pole is at the top of their shopping list amid rival Premier League interest from West Ham and Cardiff.

Fabianski, 33, has told relegated Swansea he wants out and is confident of being thrown a top-flight lifeline."
