Better than awful Zeegelar though? How are we going to shift him?

We will just end up leaving Zeegelaar outside the squad and still paying him. You know, same as we've done to Djedje, Wague and some others I've probably forgotten about.

Competition for his place seems to having a positive effect.

Holebas has been brilliant so far. Fair play to him in fighting to keep his shirt from Masina.

I have always thought Holebas has been unfairly treated on here, so maybe it's time for you lot to pick a new Boo Boy, as you always seem to want one for some unfathomable reason

Another terrific performance by our reborn hero:).

This tackle to keep it 0-0 as important as his wining goal:

This is the first time since he arrived at the club that I have felt even slightly fond of Holebas.

Still haven't forgiven him for sitting down and watching while Huddersfield scored last season though.

He was protesting against the oppression of the proletariat (embodied by the millworkers in the Huddersfield team) by the grinding machine of capitalism (personified by the watch wielding tyrant, Sssssilva).

I think I like him even more after that. Straight to the point, and honest. He's not even wrong about young footballers and what is seemingly an endless amount of money they earn - well... Up until they retire from their short career. I also like the fact that he has no time for the political question regarding *zil; "I'm not into stupid stories like this". Hah, good on you José

I’m not going to invest too much of my limited emotional intelligence on José. Disappointed last seas9n, delighted thus far this season. But does it really matter as he’s about 34 so unlikely to be a ubiquitous Horn legend so I will benevolently tolerate him as opposed to trying to work out the Holebas conundrum. In a short time he will fade away.

Bobby P seems at one with life this season.

    Excellent.

If he does well, we do well.

But no mention of the fashion stuff which would be an obvious line to feed the journo.

    I like JH’s honesty.

I wonder who sits next to him on the coach.

Put it this way, if he gives Trippier the freedom of England as he always does, then I will turn on him.

That's why I'd prefer Masina to play

    Wasn’t the bass player English?

He could help with the more soccer specific aspects of the job.

IMHO Holebas has been one of Gino's best signings, and, barring a sustained period last season where his age seemed to be catching up with him, has consistently been one of our most effective and classiest players. Technically he has stood out from the pack. He has been close to being POS a couple of times, but on this forum people have talked about him in the most na*ve and simplistic manner. He has also been subject to the Gueds style 'lost the ball in the first half and subsequently blamed for a goal in the 90th minute' syndrome of subjective judgement that is common from many on here, and taken seriously by others who maybe only get to see the highlights on MOTD.

I truly believe that any member of the team or coaching staff would be astonished by this forum's perception of Holebas over his time at the club, except the bit about him being a grumpy, moody old bugger.

Holebas has been close to being Player of the Season a couple of times? By what criteria? He's only been here three seasons - the first he was our reserve left back and barely played, and last season you think he had a sustained period where his age seemed to be catching up with him.

What particular parts of his technique mark him out as better than our other players in your opinion?

Also, big round of applause for sneering at the "subjective judgement" of other people on the forum towards the end of your wholly subjective post.

In my opinion, he's been our best player over the opening three games this season. But I also think he's been a liability defensively in previous seasons, directly costing us a number of goals through his defensive indiscipline.

Subjective? Yes. Absolutely. You must have missed the IMHO at the very start of the post that usually makes it clear that what follows is a subjective opinion.

Big round of applause to yourself mate...

Why should he? He’s done b****y well for himself without blaming anyone else, just got off his a**se and done what he’s needed too! So what if he’s moody and doesn’t do what people want/ expect!
There have been times that I’ve slated him in the past and I to wanted Masina to replace him but so far this season he’s been great! He’s always going to have his petulant moments cause that’s who he is. So, for me, until his form dips it’s carry on!

4 assists and a goal - first name on the team sheet at the moment.
