    All the coaching staff have been let go too. BIG changes for the players.

    Not sure why it took a week if we were always going to do it?

    I don't think we were always gonna do it. Something must've happened in the meetings between the hierarchy and Javi and it must've broken down from there. Or a coach that we had eyes on and dismissed with a thought that we wouldn't get him has suddenly become available and feasible...

    Bit sad this happened, but it did look like it was just about the right time. People get very negative about individuals during bad runs and times, but once they go I always think you should step back and look at their overall record. That was a very good season last year and he got the best out of the squad he had imo. Hope he continues to have a good and long career.

    As for us, I’m guessing a keep it tight style coach to dig us out of this poor form. But I really hope (if they stay on) it’s someone who’ll use some of the young talent we have on our books.

    Makes sense. If we were going to let him go then now was the right time- not when we have insufficient time to recover. I hope they know who they are replacing him with though. HIs overall record for us is pretty good but how many people honestly could see him pulling us out of this slump. The new man needs to really consider the squad as a whole and which players are past their best. Past form should not count for too much if they are no longer able to do it

    Hope to god it's not Quique coming back, but I can't see how it's possible that the Pozzi would go that way anyway, it's just not their style.

    Shame, I get it, but i think we would have been fine after a few more games under Javi.

    Never easy to predict who will be next in with the Pozzo's, getting rid of the whole backroom staff suggests they have their man already i believe.

    Rumours are that the senior management were taking soundings from the players after the Newcastle game - basically Javi had lost the dressing room, so this week they started activating the list of replacements. Javi was doomed once the respected voices in the first team said he was not up to it. Anyway he had a good purple patch, for the first half of last season.

    He came across as a likeable fella. But who wants a nice loser running your first team? Not sure I want QSF - who can only offer a great song that gets the crowd going.

    A clean slate for some of our talented youngsters I hope. It needed to happen. Teams lose games, sure, but 3-0 at home to Brighton and 7-2 aggregate home defeats to West Ham show something was fundamentally wrong.

    Horrible fixtures to start with though.

    At the airport gate and Gracia becomes the latest coach to get fired while I'm out of the country. A flight an hour earlier and he might have been alright.

    Lovely bloke but the cup run masked quite how bad we've been for a while. Correct decision.

    As for QSF, as this season is a survival season, he might be the best for the job with our ****** defence and terrible attitudes.

    As long as he doesn't bring that **** Jurado back.
