On a serious note Valencia can do one! Trying to unsettle our players and snag em on the cheap. I hope they sink to the bottom of la Liga and beyond.

While I feel for Gracia if promises have been broken, he's made a decent start there so why can't he just continue to work with what he has? It's still a big job for someone of his CV and he has been shown to be nothing more than a journeyman manager in his short career to date, with an average of a different job every season.

Ultimately, what constitutes a good season for Valencia, mid table? Anything more than a relegation struggle will be a bonus really, he's almost in a can't lose situation (unless it really does go **** up, which I don't think it will for him, he's got experience of similar situations). I would feel sorry for him, I mean nobody should have to work with an owner like Lim, but at the end of the day, this news has come to the surprise of absolutely nobody, Javi was just mug enough to believe the lies. He also tried to unsettle Capoue when seemingly nobody else was that interested in him, which has also slightly tarnished his image in my eyes

The club is in ruins. A half finished new stadium and debts up to here. They always produce talent but any they do now will be sold off immediately. They could end up in the Segunda and rebuild. They are a historic club and very well supported so in the long run they will be back.

But surely being in the Segunda would be a disaster to them? Surely it's not like here where relegation to the Championship, while almost always a blow, is very possible to bounce back stronger from?

In what way is it so different? Granada did exactly that literally two seasons ago.

What kind of state were they in when the Pozzos sold up?

I don't understand what it is that you are saying makes the segunda so different from the Championship that it isn't very possible to bounce back stronger from.

What do Valencia expect? All their best players have been sold and Gracia (despite requesting specific transfer targets) has been given no money to sign any players. "Eight first-team squad players left the Mestalla this summer with no additions."

Valencia will move out of the relegation zone if they draw with or defeat Cadiz tonight, but Eibar will have two games in hand..

In a somewhat funny turn of events, Gracia wanted Capoue to replace Coquelin and Parejo who were both sold to Villarreal. Then Villarreal bought Capoue as well.

I have no inside knowledge, but unlikely because he signed a two year contract with Valencia. I would suspect that his new contract negated his pay-off from Watford and that Valencia will need to pay compensation for the rest of his contract with them if he is dismissed.

This is why we'll always be able to get coaches like Gracia. He can only choose between basket case clubs.

Valencia have also been linked with the Portuguese manager, with club owner Peter Lim prepared to dismiss current boss Javi Gracia to bring in the 58-year-old.

Peter Lim must be mad. Hire a manager on an enormous salary while claiming the club need to sell players. That will go down well with the fans of the club and while the Nou Mestalla remains a construction site.

Javier Gracia has been dismissed by Valencia after their 2-3 home defeat to Barcelona. All the best players were sold last summer and not replaced. He tried to resign a few months after he had been appointed because he was so frustrated with the situation.

Javier Gracia has taken the club to 6 points above the relegation places in La Liga with 4 games remaining to play. I do not know what Peter Lim realistically expected in the circumstances, but I do not think that Javier Gracia has been treated very well and I hope that he is entitled to a big pay-off (because he was appointed on a two year contract).

A really nice man Javi. Perhaps too nice for the harsh world of football management. I am sure other clubs will take a chance on him given the difficult circumstances Lim placed him under be it in the Primera or Segunda and he is still a youngish coach.
