I'd also add, did you find it a bit odd what Flores said about Doucoure? He said that he thought it strange that Watford were playing Doucoure so high up the pitch.

I think that's quite a revealing comment. To my mind playing Hughes deeper and Doucoure further forward is really benefiting the side. Clearly Flores would never have even thought of trying that, going by his comments.

I think it’s just a case that QSF is a coach who focuses on the clean sheet first and builds from there. Can’t lose the game if you don’t concede. Problem is that doesn’t suit our squad - or many these days because most defenders like playing with the ball and attacking.

We needed a manager who could come in and recognise the strengths of the players in the squad and tailor a plan. QSF tried to impose his strengths on the squad - was destined to fail as you rightly said from the start.

If we go down, failing to address the issues in defence and reappointing QSF will be the two major reasons.

We've seen Doucoure excel when playing more deeply, it's just a question of how much freedom he had to go forward. And Hughes hasn't ever played a deep MF role, he's always been either central attacking mid or out wide (which isn't the best fit).

    Regardless, get out Giraldi.

In the unusual situation of sticking up for Giraldi in deciding not to follow up on Michel's recommendation to sign his son, who by his own admission, needs to apply himself more and can't get in the Bruges team.

"Gino clearly trusts him" is my favourite clapper response to Giraldi on this thread.

More the 'I did not get any feedback' part. Reminded me of reids' situation with the set pieces.

Then tell him that. Ngonge deserves a response to his efforts. They are happy enough to invite former players to help boost their 'social media presence'.

I wonder if Giraldi even read the email.

Cyril Ngonge from Belgium sounds like a text book Giraldi signing to me.

Tbf Ngonge did make other suggestions so isn't just promoting his son.

I'd be surprised if he can read. Might explain why some of the signings are so terrible. When Giraldi reads the words above average ability he is thinking he's signing the next Messi.
