Tribunal will obviously side with Liverpool, that's the whole point of it to ease the path of young talent to the bigger clubs. Fulham should point out that we paid Liverpool £4m for Jerome Sinclair to avoid a tribunal, therefore Harvey Elliott must be worth approximately £50m.

Didn't Chelsea have to fork out £2.5m for Ampadu? Can't imagine the fee will be anywhere near Liverpools valuation. Probably around the £4-5m mark.

Once again the bigger clubs can often get almost smuggle kids from South America into their academies before those players have even set foot on the first team pitch. And they do it for a pittance as per usual. Manchester City and Liverpool are prime examples. At least we do give some money. Not a huge amount but more than the clubs I have mentioned. It's not ideal but FIFA has always dragged it's feet regarding legislation to protect clubs overseas from having their youngsters poached. Then again the bigger clubs in South America prey on the canteras of smaller clubs too.

    Utterly shameless. Unsurprising.

Ah yes, but Liverpool trained Sinclair so he must be a world beater. His career went downhill because we ruined him.

Whereas Fulham are crap, so it's obvious their player can't be worth anything and will only become good once Liverpool have trained him up.

One of Bloom's very successful businesses is to analyze - in extreme detail - football matches from all the big leagues, and then to sell the insights for betting purposes. I'd be staggered if this data didn't inform the decision making at Brighton.

People asking for Pearson out but this is who I want gone!

It’s not a coincidence that every manager we get comes and goes with this man breathing down their neck.

No-one wants to be micromanaged in life. If your given a job to do, then you want to be trusted to do it. That’s the problem with us, no manager feels trusted.

It’s all very controlling from the top. Who seriously wants to work in that environment?

I wouldn’t want to work for someone like that, and I can honestly say I’m grateful I don’t. My boss in fact let’s me grow in my leadership. He just handed me our budget of $6.7mil and said, I need you to save 10%. I’m not even in finance, but he wanted to see what I would come up with. Guess what, I met with every department, every department lead, sat down and together the department leads and I cut their own budget. Not a single person lost their job! Why did it go so well, because I was trusted. Then in turn I met with all the departments and department leads, had honest conversations and asked them to be a part of the solution. They saw that I trusted them. It would have gone completely different had I just said, I’ve cut your budget by 10%, you had no input because I’m your boss, so deal with what you have. Everyone that works there, even with a budget cut, still feels connected. Why? Because they trust the leaderships judgement and know we have their backs.

It exactly the same for any job! When trust is there and people know you have their backs, they will run through walls for you.

This is the issue we have. The players never truly feel connected to a manager because they know the likelihood is he will only be there a short time. Theirs no trust.

No trust means no stability, which means no direction. This is what has to change. It starts with firing Giraldi. He is the catalyst of our problems behind the scenes. Until he goes, it will be the same outcome.

A while ago I was at a 'thing' where Michael Grade was talking about how to 'break' into the media and in a Q&A session some one mentioned that they had only produced/directed two amdram/music things: one got good reviews and the other was a disaster whether they should mention this on their applications. Garde said they should as with a 50% success rate they had an extremely good record that would bode well for bright future in UK TV production.

    What's Giraldi's success rate?

No wonder his player recruitment has been a shambles if he's out making tv shows and most likely theatre productions when he should be scouting. Unbelievable!

There is a story I've been told about 3 years ago but I didn't know at the time who was my friend referring to, but now I think it could have been Giraldi. So basically, my close friend is a pretty good friend with someone from Slavisa Jokanovic family and he told me this story, I'm not sure if it's true but I would like to see if you think it's possible. In short, he said that the reason Jokanovic left the club was because he didn't like when someone interfered with his job and that someone of higher rank at Watford was doing just that. So he said something like it's me or him and they obviously didn't choose Jokanovic . Practically the same thing happened again at Fulham, but Fulhams owner decided to sack their head of recruitment or something like that (who is best friend of the owners son) and not Jokanovic. As I said, at the time I didn't know who was he referring to, but I'd be interested to hear if you think that story is possible and could that have been Giraldi.

Worth re-reading this from a few years back: https://www.watfordfc.com/magazine/features/colney-chat-filippo-giraldi

How annoying must this be for any head coach?? Can't see that Giraldi has ever coached at any level, yet he'll be there all the time, questioning what the actual coach is doing...

"I try to help the coach," said Giraldi, who is very hands on. He regularly runs the rule over training, attends team meetings and is a presence in the dressing room. "I'm close with the Head Coach as that is what I love to do. I will do my best to help them in every aspect. We will have confrontation but we want to have one voice from the club to the coach."

Yes, but these are the clubs cherry picking the best talents from smaller clubs eg Jadon Sancho.

Will never know for sure what this guy does, what his qualifications are and how many nudes he has of Gino but what I do know is he is FAR too involved for someone we know so little about.

They either come out and offer total transparency and clarity on his role or he needs to go.

After the latest Athletic article I’m convinced this man is a rotten apple. Him and Deeney are the two constants in the SAME thing happening in our dressing room and I’ll blame Giraldi before I blame Troy.

He comes across shady and even his face looks dodgy. Needs to go, something worth protesting over!

Annoying maybe but they all willingly sign up knowing this is what's going to happen. And more fool them if they don't ask the right questions about the technical director's role as compared to theirs (or even just said article on the club website) before committing.

It's notable to a man they've all been sacked. Not one has resigned on principle having found the setup too onerous to work with.

I suppose the lawyerly answer would be 'it depends'. No one knows what compensation clauses are written into the contracts and obviously in Pearson's case he had little to lose given the time left.

My point is simply it's fine some of them whining about it after the event but, whether it's ego or money or whatever else that motivates them, they don't seem too fussed when they're still in the job. Certainly not to the extent of finding it so intolerable they have to walk.

I don't think it matters that we know little about him.

I think it matters that we know that he is the constant presence in our ongoing recruitment failures and squad regression. He's the one who's been the line manager for a succession of coaches who all end up with exactly the same set of problems.
