The Wire is just about the best TV ever. It does take a bit of commitment, but gives and gives.

Watched the first in Ade Adepitan’s series on Sub-Saharan Africa. Very interesting and engrossing.

It’s a tour in a Simon Reeves style and he highlights a number of places and themes in a way which is very enlightening. The section on Ivory Coast football particularly so, but also the potential for renewable energy to transform lives.

No. You will be dragged in and then you will seek out, the truly astonishing, 'The Corner' that has much of 'The Wire' ensemble cast playing very, very different roles...

If it's any help, it is listed as available on Trakt.TV - from where you can add to a collection on an apk such as Morph TV on a firestick.

The Wire was superb apart from the final series where it was clear that ideas were running dry.

Sounds slightly beyond my technical know-how but appreciate the info and will give it a go when I'm feeling brave. Thanks!

    Happily but I wouldn't have a clue. Isn't a firestick just slang for a cigarette ?

It can be daunting but once you get used to it, it's like riding a bicycle.

Just Google Trakt.tv & create a free account.

    Buy an Amazon firestick https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazon-Fir...&sr=8-1&keywords=4k+fire+stick+tv+4k+ultra+hd

Use YouTube to find instructions on how to find and load Morph TV - or this site can be really helpful - has suggestions for alternative apks https://troypoint.com/

    Best of luck...

Loved The Corner as well. As you say, many characters in different roles. Took a while to get my head around it.

Agreed. Every season offers a totally new plot and I loved how the characters careers changed them over time too.

I’ve been on gardening leave so watched an awful lot of Netflix recently, some new some old.

The assassination of Gianni Versace - absolutely loved this, was totally engrossed in a few of the episodes. Best thing I’ve seen for a long while.

You - girly crap, didn’t finish it.

Dirty John - it was ok, great ending but I found the daughters very annoying.

Ted Bundy tapes - ok, got a little bit bored if I’m honest.

Abducted in plain sight - Jesus ******* Christ, if you haven’t seen it watch it, one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen and seriously the most stupid and gullible parents on the planet.

Fyre festival - interesting, don’t actually think it was a con, they just didn’t know when to quit.

Gave up long ago. Died on its arse after terminus. Negan was fine, but they took 3 episodes worth of material and crammed it into 2 and a half seasons.

Oz, the Wire and the Sopranos on top.

It's a shame that there haven't been any to match these over the last decade or so.

Don't know if you've seen it, but Killing Eve much better than The Bodyguard imo.

The amount of deliberate fake key cast deaths was the ruin of the franchise. Awful writing and killed any sense of suspense.

Bandersnatch. Quite possibly the most unsettling TV event I've watched since that episode in Big Brother where that girl stuffed a wine bottle in her hairy axe wound.....

Not sure about any of those being as good as Sopranos. I've not seen them all, so can't argue, but it's a matter of opinion of course as to whether I'd agree with you having seen them

I've never seen this. Is it worth a watch now or is it a little dated?

If you aren’t hooked by episode 5 in the first season, I’d be shocked.

I watched it on Hulu, but I don’t know if that even exists in the UK.

Great show though. 86 was a little slow to begin with, but it really grew.

Babylon Berlin was also outstanding, if we’re on the theme of German shows.

Think Breaking Bad has to top my list, 9 years after originally starting this thread! Better Call Saul is a fantastic spin off too.

Currently finally watching Making A Murderer. Could it be any more painfully obvious that the man was set up and framed? Jesus.
