    What an awful occurrence.
Landed on the next square to the one being used, from a cross bow I believe.

Well fair to say the bowlers were the winners!

Won't last 3 days at this rate...

We really don't seem able to find an opening batsman to partner Cook.
Malan could do with a tidy score on his home ground.
May last 3 days;rain may intervene!

Keep an eye out for Ben Duckett, when he masters spin and with the correct coaching he could open the batting for England for many years in the future, such a gifted natural batsman. Does the hard things well but makes the easy things look difficult.

500 up for Jimmy and a small but maybe vital lead for England

My mate Neil once said Jimmy wasn't good enough for Test cricket. :D

I was at Lords today. A fitting place for Jimmy to get his 500th wicket. Hope continues for a while as he still looks our best bowler

I thought he was finished last year, he just seems to go on and on, was in South Africa for the World Cup when he suddenly came on th scene due to injuries (I think) and was sat I with his parents who rushed out there to watch him, who would believe 15 years later on he would become England's greatest bowler, he really does continue to prove the doubters wrong (including myself) Glad he bowled the bloke to get the wicket, always a better sense of satisfaction for a bowler when you clean bowl someone. Congratulations jimmy, have a well earnt rest and prepare yourself for the ashes.

My mate's gripe wasn't that so much, though. He thought Jimmy was a one trick pony, could swing the ball in the right conditions but nothing else. He's revised his opinion, to be fair. And even if you think he is a one trick pony, it's a hell of a trick. A bit like saying that all Holding and Marshall could do was bowl fast.

Looked great under the lights on the TV.

You're right about Jimmy. The cupboard looks a bit bare to me once he and Broad retire.

Very fitting for Anderson to get his best figures in Test cricket.

Nice for Stoneman and Westley to finish the job.

I am a bit worried that the assured performances of Stoneman and Westley against a demoralised attack yesterday may complicate selections for Oz. Bit having said that, I enjoyed how they played

After Middlesex last season seems like Essex will be County Champions for the first time in over 2 decades!

Congratulations to Essex, they were in the second tier and came up and won the league at the first attempt, a great achievment, its nice that it is still a sport that good coaching and Managment can win and not just the club with the largest budget

    Not yet!

Hampshire are having a bit of a 'mare against already relegated Warwickshire and if they lose (Hants) Middlesex stay up. So hopefully Warks will find their killer instinct rather than being Pooh Bears.

Hants need 258 to win, are already 20-1 and the innings scores so far are 188 a/o & 186 a/o (both Warks) with Hants making 116 a/o.

Unfortunately I fear so! Half a chance Hants could balls it up tomorrow but I somehow have my doubts. What an abject season it's been for Middlesex compared to last season. The batting has been so woeful it's untrue. What with this and the underwhelming England squad announced today, I don't think my cricket morale will be getting any better any time soon.

I hope you're correct oxhey but as ever the weather may save Hants but stay fine for Middlesex.
Should be an exciting day as long as Ben Stokes isn't in charge of the drinks!
