Ah, welcome to the gang! I had a couple of very rough days, but through the worst of it now - I found the best treatment is to write sarcy comments about our owners on here, it made me feel better at least.

No sooner had we begun to stop worrying about Covid, now it’s Monkeypox, which isn’t a disease idea workshopped by Alan Partridge, but a viral illness that causes large blisters.

It's been around for years. Nothing to worry about really, it's manageable.

 

I have finally succumbed. I developed a bit of a sore throat and a cough yesterday so done a test a few moments ago as I was due to be out after work this evening and it’s come back positive. I feel fine though.

 

Well, it’s finally happened here too. I went to fill up my car with diesel yesterday and immediately came over all sweaty, pulse racing and felt faint. By that time I saw the final bill I realised I must be positive for the carownervirus.

 

Ban?

I’ve got to say, I feel absolutely fine. Bit of a dry cough every 40-45 minutes and that’s it.

Good excuse to catch up on a bit of telly though!

And, just like that, I’ve tested negative this morning. Guessing I must’ve been a carrier for a few days before any symptoms showed.

 

Same here when I had it back in September.

I only knew I had it because I had to take the compulsory test two days after coming back from a holiday abroad, otherwise I would have put it down to the usual light Summer cold I normally get when coming back from a hot climate to the British Autumn.

 

Dammit. Tested positive this morning after contact with a confirmed case Thursday. Took neg tests Sat & Sun.

Symptoms milder than but identical to what I had back at the very start, so am now convinced I had it back in the very early days.

Started with a sore throat and tickly cough, now a temperature and headache. Feels like a cold really.

 

It is certainly rife at the moment. Of my team of ten two have tested positive, two more are showing symptoms but not testing.

 

I’m literally bricking it, had a stag do in Barcelona which I got back from yesterday, I actually feel better than I would’ve imagined but still plenty of ‘symptoms’ that could be the onset of Covid but also could quite easily be the result of a 2 day bender with virtually no sleep. Have Glastonbury on Wednesday so I’m basically just living on my nerves expecting to be struck down by Covid at any moment. If I don’t get it I think it will actually be a miracle.

 

4 days into the lurghi and hayfever and the other ailments this wreck of a body provides me are more annoying than the symptoms. Sleep only interrupted to pee rather than to hack up another piece of lung.

I reckon I might even test negative tomorrow.

I have no sense of taste or smell though. Or at least a weird one. I could taste that my curry last night was hot but it didn't taste of anything.

 

I had exactly this with my bout. I could tell you if something was sweet, salty or sour but no flavour.

 

Seems to be returning slowly.

 

I've finally come down with it now as of this morning. Did/does anyone else have a lot of sneezing fits with it? Wasn't aware of this being one of the symptoms.
