If Edwards is under serious consideration for the Boro job then it shows what a basket case we’re probably seen as by the rest of the footballing world. He did precisely nothing with us to warrant being under consideration, but it’s probably written off as an irrelevance against the backdrop of us having gone through 17 managers under Gino. I hope he does well if he gets it though.

I doubt too many of our managers come away with reputations reduced. Walt. QSF second time around. I guess Roy and Ranieri were walking retirements already. Most others would come away with enhanced or untarnished reputations I think.

If he does get it, it will be an interesting sub plot on our season in terms of whether we acting too rashly in sacking him.

Can understand why Edwards would take it, but he's in danger of dropping into the managerial wilderness if he farks this one up as well.

Boro’ arguably have all the tools to do what Forest last season (although maybe missing a great striker, Forest also didn’t have a prolific one). Plus they have the best wing back pairing in the division which should suit Edwards style.

It's why I always laugh when I hear the typical media trope of "why would anyone go there?!"

Best case scenario, you do a good job and your reputation is enhanced, worst case scenario you get a quick payout and your reputation is firmly intact.

Even better for the likes of Joka & Xisco, you end up improving your reputation and getting a quick payout.

Really it's one of the lowest risk jobs in English football

Edwards tonight. Must have a smile on his face. See Pozzo. It's not me but you.

I hope Edwards is sending Bassini-esque gloating texts to Gino after every loss

Edwards came across as a gentleman with a touch of class about him, two qualities our ex chairman has never possesed.

Yet more evidence pointing to Gino that it's his incompetence that is the problem not countless coaches .

That is 5 goals let in 2 games.

We hardly let in a goal under Edwards really compared to this.

    Maybe we just got lucky?

Safe to say it was well worth sacking Edwards. Definite progress yesterday.

I don't think he's ready for a PL job yet but good luck to him wherever he ends up, I hope he does well.

It'd be beyond hilarious if he went and got the Wolves job and did a really well there.

Especially if we're relegated to League One at the same time.

We'd still have people saying he was out of his depth here.

Is the new Lootown manager, probably a good fit to be fair and will get more time at a smaller club with less ambition.

Probably have to start well but glad we don’t play them for a bit as that really would be a certain defeat !

In all honesty it is a gamble for Edwards . He has replaced a popular manager at a team that were over achieving . If he doesn't hit the ground running I believe the Neanderthals that frequent Lootown will turn very quickly. Also he has only won 7 out of his last 29 matches as manager which is not a good return by any stretch .

Riggly Rob probably engineered his own exit here with poor performances and the refusal to sign a right wing back. All so he could take his dream job up the road. I note that he was gone before we played them. Clever move.

"Don't call me gaffer, call me Rob"

How about we call you the name you automatically inherit for moving there - SCUM.

Far as I know only one man managed to wash that title off, Matt Spring. He's alright now.

Strange move really as they’re surely at the very top of their ceiling already. Surely would’ve been better waiting for more a of a sleeping giant where he could actually elevate them above their current level, all he can really do is emulate what NJ did at best, or just do a lot worse.
