Wouldn't it be easier just to move the original transfer thread? Would clog the forum up less and also allow easy access to all the incorrect opinions to quote when Fletch bags 20 goals and single handedly keeps us up!
In general that seems a good idea for all the completed signings. I'm particularly curious to see how Louza will fare relative to the comments in his transfer thread.
Feel we need a big showing from him this season, as our 'big money' signing in an area where we're fairly weak
Yeah I was really suggesting it for all transfer threads, just used this one as a was of shoehorning the suggestion in!
Not quite a Premier League player, from what I saw tonight, but got himself the match winner. Pretty decent with the ball at his feet. Thought he had a bit more pace than he showed tonight and was disappointed with his aerial ability, but I can see him growing into a useful squad player.
Came across really well in the post-match interview. I can imagine he’s a decent person to have around the place. Waited for his opportunity, was then played in an unfamiliar position but popped up with the winner. Well done to him.
Could be a late sub to grab a scruffy goal in future. Looks better than I thought he'd be, especially since he was out of position.
I don't think a great deal of him, but he is a far better option with 10 minutes to play than bringing on Deeney. Does seem to have a bit of Perica about him where he looks like he should be a lot better in the air than he actually is.
Ashley Fletcher has now played for two PL clubs. While he’s yet to score in the PL, he has now scored for both those clubs in the League Cup against PL sides. His only goal for West Ham was in this competition too, against Man U at Old Trafford.
Is Ashley the new Andre Gray? No one would pick him as a starter, but he has by far the best goals / minute numbers.
He hasn’t seemed as bad as you’d assume he actually would be. He’s had some half decent chances in the tiny amount of minutes he’s had, I dare say if he had the odd 90 minutes here or there then he’d score goals, but let’s hope it never comes to that as that means we would’ve had an absolute disaster with injuries.
Just awkwardly forced an own goal with a low cross that led to NYRB winning their game against the Revs 1-0 #FeedtheFletch
Just a quick note for anyone thinking he’ll be an ok option, he’s scored 19 championship goals in 92 games.
Don't think he's a bad option for filling the Geigo, Pericia role. If we're relying on him for double-digit starts in a season we're screwed though, otherwise can see him chipping in 6-7 useful goals next season.
Basically the come on every now and then, run around like a headless chicken but occasionally fluke the odd goal role. Yeah he’d probably be perfect at that too.
That translates to 9/10 goals over a season. That would have made him our second top goal scorer in our last promotion campaign!
But that’s assuming he starts every game. If we start the same striker for 46 games and he gets 9/10 I’d be a little disappointed (unless their role is primarily to set-up a strike partner / wide forwards)
He's only ever reached that total once in a Championship season, and that took place over 43 appearances, so it would take a fair uplift in performance and contribution from him to manage it scratching around for late sub appearances and the odd injury fill-in.
I say this very hesitantly but we SHOULD be one of the best teams in the league meaning he has better service and should be able to chip in some goals. He's scored 2 in 2 so far!
Anyone watch the MLS? I see he can't even get in the squad at New York. He's hardly going to bring anything to our squad.
