Surely not. I wonder if this was one of those deals we were looking at if we stayed down. Would have been an ok signing as a championship squad player but there is zero justification for signing him as a PL player.

 

Is he even an upgrade on the chuckle twins? Incredible waste of wages unless the exists of four/five of our current forwards are pending.

He’s played just 14 times this season and was released because Neil Warnock doesn’t rate him.

I'll be delighted with this if it means Gray or Success are leaving.

 

Genuinely would be gutted if we had stayed down and signed him. Seeing as we went up, I'm genuinely baffled but this doesn't bode well for them having learned much.

 

I honestly think he is worse than them both.

I guess it is difficult to recruit strikers even more ***** than Deeney so he is still automatic first choice every game.

The last decent striker we signed was Ighalo and he was a total fluke having been utter ***** until we signed him.

Lol, though actually tbf his minutes per goal in the 2019/20 season (1 per 324 minutes) was pretty much the same as Sarr's was for us this season (1 per 315) - and that was the highest out of all our regular players.

Fletcher was of course playing as more of an outright CF for Boro than Sarr has been for us though.

 

So so disappointing - how do they never learn? Forget the fact he's ****. Why on earth are we giving him a five year contract after narrowly escaping a financial blackhole? I wouldn't even want him if we went down.

 

I withhold comment until those who saw him play for Man Utd U23’s several years ago have passed judgement.

 

I imagine this is all about the juicy loan fees.

He’s not horrendous, it’s just bad. Saying that, if it means Deeney is off and he’s coming in, I’ll take it.

 

Here's another one - since returning from injury at the end of January, he's got 2 goals and 1 assist in his only 2 starts (though 1 of those 2 goals was a crap penalty).
