Nearly 16 weeks from surgery date to pre-season starts. He should easily be here for the beginning of pre-season.
His goal scoring record does not suggest he will be our Premiership saviour. I have a feeling we may have another Peneranda on our hands. The best thing since sliced bread until he stepped foot in the UK
As a centre forward, almost certainly not, no, although as someone who can play centrally or out wide, he'd at the very least be a very decent squad option, maybe even a starter (ideally out wide with a more prolific striker to come in). Penaranda had a bright season for Granada about 5 years ago, but has done absolutely flip all since, Cucho hasn't been outstanding in La Liga, but at least he's been playing, and at least he's been OK, rather than stinking it up in second rate leagues
According to sofascore his avg rating over the last three seasons has been 6.83. Not setting the world alight, but not dreadful by any means. According to whoscored, he is Getafe’s 6th best player this season, 5th if you just include players who have played 1000mins or more. Again decent, nothing wrong with that. His avg whoscored rating over 3 seasons is 6.71. That’s the same as Bachmann’s rating this season. His best ranking was last season with a rating of 6.86. That would put him higher than Kiko, Chalobah, Sema, Ngakia and Kaba this season. Only .02 off Hughes (6.88). If he can come in around that level, he can definitely do a job for us.
We're not going to know if he's good enough until he plays. Wouldn't be surprised if he never does though.
Wasn’t the Getafe loan with an option for them to buy? If we could get some money in for Cucho then it could be a route to get in some genuine quality? Didn’t we buy Sarr partly from the Lukebakio profit?
Lukebakio, now there's a player I was sorry to see go, maybe we go back in for him, I reckon he could do a job for us in the PL
We bought him for about £1m and sold for about £20m, if he’s now cheaper than £20m we obviously don’t want him, if he’s more expensive than £20m then that’s exactly likely from Gino.
Am out in Madrid at the moment. I just asked a passer-by on the street if he knows whether or not Cucho will be joining up with the squad this summer. He said "Que?" Make of that what you will.
Cucho's underlying numbers are really, really good. He's far more physical (suited to English football) than those mentioned above and a huge upgrade on what we have now. We'd be lucky to have him, which I think we will.
I just checked and I can't find any Esso petrol stations in Madrid. It's no wonder they know nothing.
No, I don't believe it was, the club even said there was a break clause (whether there was, or whether it was feasible that it could have been triggered is another thing)
There has been a lot of talk about this guy, but is he good enough for the PL? I don't know enough about him to form an opinion, but hopefully our management team do? I'll have to say the jury is still out on this one as far as I'm concerned.
Made his comeback from injury yesterday, got subbed on and play just over 15 minutes. First game since March 13th. Getafe are now safe with one game to go so hopefully he gets a bit longer in the final game.
Guessing he might be sold this summer ? http://sportwitness.co.uk/player-al...ll-interested-parties-including-current-club/
He looked lively when he came on for half an hour against Granada at the weekend, he seems to be over his injury now. I really like him, have to say. Would love to see him in a Watford shirt next season.
Guess he’ll be another guy invested in not for our benefit. Hopefully what we sell him for will offset the money we funnelled to Udinese for Pusetto.
He at least has been treated like a Watford player - I believe he did some rehab with us and came along to watch a game (Maybe the United win?). Would be interested to see him in pre season - just hasn't kicked on over the last 2 years but has shown moments of real quality.
He's the type of player we could do with for the left-wing, but yeah it's hard to tell if he's really the upgrade on Sema that we need. If we were able to sell him and instead sign someone like Danjuma then it would make sense, but if we miss out on other targets for that position then he could end up being the only feasible alternative we have to try.
I've been really disappointed with the quality of club we've loaned him to, basically every season he's been in a **** team that are in a relegation battle that don't create much. If you're getting battered each week and barely creating much nor getting much of the ball then it's hard to show your quality.
I do broadly agree but to be fair - I don't think people expected Getafe to struggle so much this season. I suspect he wanted to stay with Huesca after promotion but IDK.
Yeah definitely agree with that - Getafe finished 8th last season (even though they again didn't create much or have much of the ball last season either!) so I can see why the club thought they would be an upgrade over Mallorca + Huesca.
Yeah - its not like we have been profilic creators either so I suppose it makes sense to let him get experience of that.

That's the same as the story above, it could just mean we take him back for a few days before deciding to send him back out on loan again or sell him.
