Credit to him for giving the interview but he will not be able to improve his return if he really thinks he's getting 'two or three on target per game' and the only thing preventing him and Troy having 15 goals between them in the last dozen games is things not dropping for them or the keeper getting in the way. You can train decision-making and sharpness. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
It's really cynical timing by the club. Gray broke lockdown for the second time at the end of November but it took him and the club over three months to think this interview might be a good idea. And it's just after a transfer window closed where they've been roundly criticised and people have started to question Gino and Duxbury more widely?
It's almost as if they are completely aware of the fact that a huge portion of our fanbase is made up of easily swayed, easily manipulated idiots...
#WeAllTogether #InGiNoWeTrUsT #FaMiLyClUb #Clapclapclap etc I'm a big Gray critic, but this is far too late in the day for this interview. Very much a "What a shyte window, **** it lets throw Gray to the dogs and hope they forget about us"
If only they’d invented something to act as a barrier between the inside of your property and those who wish to enter from outside. Ideally you’d be able to open and close it as you see fit, preventing people from entering the property against your wishes.
Maybe he needed to get this off his chest. Maybe he will now be like a new player when he starts today maybe I’m just insane
He has a fundemental lack of integrity. Both on and off the pitch. Off the pitch he had history, even before the lockdown flouting. As a club I'm proud we offer 2nd chances. But you have to draw the line eventually and he's shown a complete disregard for the people currently suffering or struggling. On the pitch he had the ability to play, but doesn't either want to now, or want to put the extra in to sort out the problems he has. He's paid more in a week than many earn in years at a time when people are losing their livelihoods and seems to worry more about off the pitch stuff like extending his mansion. He makes it very difficult to defend him.
Thing is, if we were playing in front of crowds I think he’d be being openly mocked everytime he ****s up another easy chance and booed when he the teams were announced etc. The club might even have cut their losses by now. Instead, I think everything in football is weirdly insulated at the moment, playing in a cocoon without crowds. I’m not sure online criticism from the fans has anywhere near the same impact - in fact, clubs probably spent the last few years trying to convince their players and staff to tune that sort of stuff out.
Yes they just call them trolls and people who don’t know what they are talking about etc from what I hear .
I think some clubs, like ours, are in for a right old shock when fans are allowed back in. The novelty for some has worn off of being let back in after the December period...
The Upoer Rous like a moan at the best of times ! Many pundits have said teams are playing more negative football as they get away with it without fans.
Does the club use the same PR consultant as Prince Andrew? Absolutely cringeworthy and nauseating in equal measure. I couldn't decide who came over as the most insincere moron - Grey or the interviewer. And how dare they attempt to draw parallels between Grey and Luther? Goodbye Watford FC. It's been a fun 50-odd years but I just don't love you any more
Not sure I can bring myself to watch. What was the comparison with Luther? I see that Luther himself is furious about it.
Don’t particularly have any fondness for Andre Gray and I’m sure the club would love to get him off the wage bill . The reality is however, that he is the only player in our squad who regularly gets on the end of chances and we need someone to start scoring regularly or promotion is extremely unlikely . If he can regain his goal scoring touch then that is almost the only way I can see that happening, as we don’t have any other realistic options. Perica maybe, but he’s perennially injured . Pedro is too inconsistent and still learning the game . It doesn’t really matter if we ‘get behind him’or not let’s face it , as none of us are at the matches anyway. That is the reality of the situation we are in .
Richard Walker brought up that Luther was called 'Luther Missit' by the media and referenced that, like Gray, he missed lots of chances. He then asked Gray what he thought Luther did to get through that and Gray farted out some football cliché nonsense about 'keeping going'. I have no idea what the idea was in talking about it. That we'd start looking at Gray in the same way as our highest ever goalscorer never to be ever beaten? What's Luther said about it?
That moniker Walker should know was only in the Italian press. He did struggle in serie A but so did Rush and a host of other top players. The top scorer often only hit twenty due to the defending in the division often far more physical and tough than Division One. Plus Luther found it difficult to adapt domestically and all these things combine in a lack of confidence. Comes back to us and starts banging them in. You simply cannot compare the two players. It is back bending of the highest order to suggest Gray is merely in a bad run of form. He struggles with the basics of being a striker at the moment combined with a lack of effort no wonder he makes himself a target combined wit his off field stupidity.
Now that Luther has come out against this insulting garbage it’s gonna be hilarious seeing the happy clappers trying to walk back their knee jerk “fair play to Andre and fair play to the club #class #respect” responses The only thing these mutants love more than Gino is the mythical GT/Blissett/Barnes era they probably never even experienced
Andre Gray. Poor footballer. Consistently makes poor off the pitch decisions. Good at weight training appears to be his only attribute. What were the club thinking producing this drivel? The decision making goes from bad to worse.
He's a ******* clown, if anyone falls for that publicity stunt (which they will), they are really quite dense. Cannot wait until the chuckle brothers, big and small, are gone.
The video itself is pretty boring and the words are very hollow. He's a long history of selfish, 'questionable' activity and a little piano music doesn't change that. A lot of the blame has to lie at the door of WFC. He was given far too much money, too long a contract and too big a price tag. Despite what he says, he definitely has nowhere near the same hunger he had when playing for Brentford, Burnley etc. He's a multi-millionaire with a popstar girlfriend - he doesn't care about the club and his entire approach since being here looks like someone who just wants to 'get by' over his contract without applying himself too much.
Imagine Newcastle releasing a video over tear jerking piano music about how Joelinton’s struggles in front of goal actually aren’t all that different to what Alan Shearer went through It’s genuinely that ill advised and cringeworthy
Yes....it' Richard alright. He's very straight talking. I loved his interview style. Basically called him a bit of a c*** and a s*** footballer. I loved his style. In fairness Gray took it. I can imagine most footballers would have reacted to his bluntness or walked straight out of the interview.
We all know that. They all know that. But for some reason they have gone out of their way to try and convince us otherwise. I really don't understand what the point was.
As others have said, a quick look on twitter and a lot have lapped it up. Plenty of 'lets get behind him' cries despite the fact he has consistently treated our club like a joke.
I know some of the non top/playing management staff have been a bit fed up of the behaviour of some players generally since the first lockdown when last season stopped . They might defend the club in general (as you might expect in all fairness being employed by them ) but not the players themselves.
