It's true. I had a dialogue with a cashier at Waitrose in the summer about BJ and what an OE sap he was. This lady defended him,got quite emotional, messed up the bill and had to be replaced by a colleague. Very Waitrosey! Haven't been back since. Perhaps we could swap her for Andre?
I think we've got it the wrong way around. Gray for PM and Boris up front for Watford......not sure there would be too much difference in all fairness.
1 second is a long time in football. It is 5 or 6 yards of space . So if you take too many touches it allows a disorganized defence to recover . A couple of seconds is all it takes. In the 6 yard area 1/10 of a second is an eternity . If you don't instantly control or get your shot away you will get tackled or have your shot blocked. There is an obvious link to Andre's lack of ball control and seeing him thrashing about in the 6 yard box .
Another solid 28 minutes on the pitch for Andre. He attempted two passes this time and completed one, no shots, no dribbles, no headers won, no tackles won, no interceptions, didn't win any free kicks but did commit one foul and get caught offside. It's like he's not even playing.
He barely managed to touch the ball while he was on the pitch. And one of those touches was to trap a ball further than I could've kicked it. I remember when we signed him from Burnley, Duxbury commented that he was genuinely surprised that they were prepared to sell him to us. You've gotta laugh.
I laughed more at the part where Deeney knocked it down and Gray looked at the ball like he didn't know what it was. I'd suggest that he needs some sort of sports psychologist but he doesn't strike me as the sort of player that would agree that he even needed one, let alone see them. He's actually Rufus Smalls from Mike Bassett.
But the fact he hardly touched the ball and when he did he was incapable of controlling it WAS HIS FAULT
Pedro had little impact when he came on in the last game. But noone went on the Pedro thread after the match. There is an unfair imbalance of finger pointing in respect of this player so i will continue to point out the facts and reality when required. Whilst it is true i don't want him at the club no more it doesnt mean every bad result is his fault. In the match thread about 20 mins ago i gave my take on the game last night.
Spoken out about various subjects . Time to step up like all the attackers and deliver. https://mobile.twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1357759930770595844
I see the Twitter ***** are falling over themselves (and dribbling over themselves) to bury their heads in Gray's arse over that. Naive morons.
Too little, too late. Should've happened the day after the second breach. Club have acted far too late in response to continued criticism by the fans. Makes a good point about his charitable work though, part funded the building of a school library in Jamaica and never publicised it. As a footballer though, he's finished. Mentally shot to pieces.
“Boo hoo” Pathetic interview from a finished player. At least Ellington has the good grace to go out on loan rather than sticking around and stinking the place up I see the usual midwits are lapping it up however so a job well done by the club. The backing track of sombre piano music was a nice touch
The problem is that for most players when they're in rank form they just need to strip it all back and focus on technique. Gray hasn't got any.
His technique and finishing is absolutely woeful, but one way or another, more chances fall to him than any other of our strikers. Pedro is very tidy on the ball but how many times each match does he get a big chance. It's somewhat worthless if his finishing remains awful, but if Gray's finishing level went up from awful to bad or even the heady heights of below average, he'd be a more effective goalscorer than any of our other strikers
Maybe he should just focus on staying as far away from the ball as possible. At least then he won't be in the way & can't mess things up. Even that would help.
Regarding Andre Gray, I may be in the minority but I did like him at one time. His goals to games ratio was good when considering the limited amount of time he spent on the pitch. He was often used as a substitute 2 years ago and he seemed to have the ability to score goals at important times in big games for us, including scoring the winner against Paliss to knock them out of the FA Cup. He seemed to lose confidence last season, especially when he played as the main striker in the FA Cup reply at Tranmere, where he couldn't seem to put a foot right and didn't impress at all against 3rd tier opponents. I think that he does try, but unfortunately he makes too many mistakes and he has lost the knack of scoring goals.
My favourite parts were when he said he doesn't care what people think of him but then proceeded to say how what fans think of him gets to him and that there's a lot of pressure on him from fans. And that he and Deeney could have 15 goals between them over the last seven games. Comedy gold. Also when he said he wanted to win the league. I knew then he was on a windup.
To be fair to Andre GD he has the mind of a small bony fish. Five minutes into an alleged conversation (one could hold more stimulating ones with a tree) he has probably forgotten what he was talking about originally. That is his concentration span unless of course we are discussing subterranean pools. Gollum. Gollum.
The clubs hand have been forced on this by the fans I think. Dave Messenger will have had a LOT of complaints I think in the past few months. Sadly the way to have dealt with it was to sell him and let both sides have a fresh start. It’s another poor move from the club to have failed to do so and then try and drag fans onside. Quite telling that it’s Dave Messenger doing the interview as well and not that plank Affleck. At the very least we needed to see fire from the player - but I don’t buy that he’s ‘owned’ his mistakes. There’s been little sign of that. The guy is clearly down about it all now and it’s a hard watch at times. But I don’t feel the result of that should be giving him another chance. That ship sailed.
Can't sell him if there are no buyers. Can't give him away without the money to pay off his contract. It's like a failed marriage staying together for the kids.
I have to say I don’t mind him as a bloke. However as a player he is second only to Deeney in being a blockade to a rebuild so I really want him to move on. Probably not possible so just give him a loan next year for someone willing to pay him 20k a week of the wages and then release him after that.
"I'm not gonna make excuses" "I only invited a couple of friends round for my birthday, but then they invited their entire contact list, not my fault"
I really hope we can draw a line in the sand after his poor form and see him turn it around. We're behind you Andre. COYH. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk in October 2019.
I'm not. He's a complete bell end and an appalling footballer. I don't want or need to "get behind" him, unless perhaps it's to push him off of the edge of a cliff.
