Now it's matchday I'm slightly more nervous about this, on paper we should beat them particularly given their home form. But we had this overconfidence in previous seasons as well as Wycombe in October where we played like we only had to turn up.

I think they're easing Zinckernagel into the league plus he's already played a full season, so although we'd love him to start I can't see a boggy hellhole being the place to do it.
At the New Den in the mid 90s is the only time I've ever seen someone being ejected from a family stand for their behaviour.
I'll never forget Millwall at home 1st game if the season, maybe 96? Less than 10k in the vic and some of the crowd turned on the team when the season was less than 30 minutes old!!
We could just point chopper Welbourne at their forwards whilst setting Tom Walley loose in midfield after stealing his Welsh cakes & laverbread.
My sources within the training ground have informed me that Xisco's aura of feel-good, happy, attacking football has now emanated to every corner of the club. Apparently this occurred at around 10am during Monday's training session, which was 3 or 4 days ahead of schedule. The last remaining bastion of negativity and ineffectiveness, Andre Gray's soul, officially opened at that point, and joy and abandon flooded in. He is now said to have regained the ruthless goal-scoring instinct of his 23 goal 15/16 season, combined with 5 years additional guile and experience. I was thinking about the '96 0-2. We managed to lose our opening home game of the season to Millwall twice in 7 years!! Milwall have beaten us 42 effin times in our history!!
God knows why but I've been to Millwall quite a few times over the years, at both old and new den. I remember the 4-0 win at the old den and always remember standing there thinking why it had to be Millwall we thumped and not a more friendly team. Lovely alleyway that you had to walk down to get to the away end. I also remember playing them in the League cup on a Tuesday night. I think we lost 4-3. I arrived late having got lost driving to the ground and arrived just before half time. Wouldn't let in the away end so they stuck me in the home end. What I didn't know is that Furlong had just been sent off for punching one of their players and the fans wanted blood! As the steward was walking me round to the away end I was definitely getting some suspicious looks. Apart from that it's normally a very good away day. No idea why but I have a feeling everything will finally click tonight and we will be superb 1-0 to them
I wonder how Millwall fans feel about the New Den now they've been there a while. I know a lot of them hated it when they first moved & said it was pretty soulless compared to the old place. I've been to the New Den a few times & I don't think it's the worst "new" ground I've been to.
