This season he has been playing like a £5m player. Whether that's down to tactics, ability or attitude it is hard to tell. If we reinvested some of the money, we'd be much better selling for £30m. That's a big if mind you.
One of the few players who turned up for them when it looked like they were in trouble last season...they're lucky to have him
Would be absolute madness to sell Sarr in January. While he hasn't torn up the Championship in the way many of us hoped, he is still a very important player and a crucial outlet for our play. Even if we could sell him and sign a cheaper replacement, this would still be a huge risk as the new signing may flop. The only way we will sell is if the finances really demand it, I hope not.
West Ham have made a €30m offer for Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri apparently. Surely if that comes off they won't be going for Sarr too as they won't be making two massive signings in one window...
Offer rejected supposedly. It would be a major coup for West Ham if they managed to get El-Nesyri - 4 goals in 6 CL games with Sevilla reaching the knockout stages and 8 goals in 17 La Liga games. Only 23 as well. Sevilla would be mad to sell for anything less than £50mil at least imo. Of PL clubs I'd have thought Chelsea or Liverpool should rather be looking at him. In Spain he could work for Atletico, maybe even Barca.
Disagree. If we can get 25m, say now, or even 20, we should take it. I think his value with us is on a stark downward trajectory. Losing out on 10m difference by holding on, only to see him make 3 assists and score 2 goals makes no sense, when we could use that to buy 2 or 3 new players.
I'm not convinced his value is diminishing, regardless of what Watford fans think of his performances. Most people will still have the Liverpool game implanted in their memories. Indeed even during this season, the 'experts' in the studio seem to rave about his performances. We are sure to be able to get a decent fee in the summer.
Really? Do you think a football club will part with more than £20m for a player whose stats in the Championship are anything close to double what they are now for the season? People don't pay those sorts of sums for players with a handful of goals and assists in the second tier, for a top 10 side.
Unfortunately our recent record of finding a club more stupid than us to buy our crap has been quite poor.
Absolutely not, but I think they would pay for the player who already showed he was useful in the Premier League at the meager age of 21 (at the time). I'm pretty sure many will consider his ceiling far above what we have seen this season.
His value will be used to clear part of the loan. Not a chance we use any of it, other than lose change, to buy any players.
It’s worse than that as the loans in the accounts were before we bought Sarr so his sale will pay down that figure plus what we spent/owe on the Sarr purchase
Whether he should stay or not is debatable, but either way he's not going anywhere. The club aren't going to drop their asking price, and no club in the world's mad/desperate enough to pay what we're asking for him.
As we got Zink on a free, that gives them a bit of a get out of jail card if they can shift Sarr for £25+ Not ideal, but they’ll more or less cover his transfer fee with a bit of a shortfall, but still have a player that will probably contribute just as much, if not more.
The first team to come in with a £25 - £30m bid upfront and not instalments he’s gone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Can’t see him going (famous last words), we are still in the mix for promotion, if we had been in the middle of the table maybe, but still in with a 40:60 chance of automatic promotion , 6 points of 2nd with a game in hand. however if we fall apart in the next 2 weeks who knows
Perhaps we can flog Scott Two-Face and Gino to someone. Bring in someone competent to run the club and oversee long term planning and transfers.
Opinion it may be. But one that flies in the face of all the evidence proffered. That's hardly rational. Or intelligent.
Suspect we've said to him that he's wasted half a season with us, might as well waste another half and we'll let him move on in the summer. He looks downbeat to me, Mane commented on him being a quiet bloke and now he's playing in a rubbish league, stuck inside on his own and can't speak the language. He's still got a good attitude as demonstrated by how much energy he puts into tracking back and even how seriously he was taking the lining up of a defensive wall he was part of in the last game. Just looks like all joy has gone out of him. We should let him go be happy somewhere else.
It's hard to imagine a more catastrophic signing in the history of football, from the players point of view. Oh well.
He’ll go if the right offer comes along. However I don’t think he’s played well enough for the right offer to come along. If I were a PL chairman I’m not sure I’d spend £20m on him on current showing, and certainly not if I could probably get Del for quite a bit less.
