I would take a battling loss with signs of something to build on out of this game to be honest. Norwich are on fire and just hitting their stride now.
Norwich effectively retained their championship side that won promotion. That's why they were relegated and why they are well placed now to bounce back up. Their players and manager are far better suited to winning in this league than ours.
We beat Norwich effortlessly last season and the only reason we wouldn't this time around would have been because of Ivic's pathetic, sterile game plan. Poor player attitudes or not, a monkey could manage our squad and achieve more shots on goal than we've been having. With a guy who isn't a complete stale turd in charge, I now expect to trounce them and every other Championship side from now until the season's end, even if the players are half arsing it.
On the sherry a little early ISO ? However the paucity of shots on goal in Ivic's tenure has been little short of appalling. If you are not prepared to try your luck once in a while you will score nothing.
Or the fact that three of the four scorers against them last season no longer play for us... and the other one was Gray.
And let's not forget that his goal was a pathetic, terrible dribbler resulting from an attempted skill move that was limping lifelessly straight into the goalie's arms until a random deflection of a defender threw him/it for a loop and sent it in.
I enjoy reading the many and various points of view on here. Thank you all and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Good Health for the New Year!
Norwich's squad also is and was much younger than ours and many of their better players are young and still improving; while we had the second oldest team in the league with many of our better players in decline.
A very good point. They seem to have kept confidence and morale up despite always looking set to go down last season. We seemed very complacent and thinking we'd stay up... But not got confidence back or any team spirit.
Looking at the 14/15 season , my lord what a squad we had built by then . to me they seemed streets ahead of the opposition but hardly any of them thrived in the Prem. Toser, Abdi, Watson and Gueds in midfield . 4 of the best we d had up until that point since Taylor era. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014–15_Watford_F.C._season
Yeah we had Delafeou for the first Norwich game and Doucoure and Pereyra. However I agree that we are have the potential to be just as good as them or possibly better if we stop playing like *****.
I've had a great day overall. Now I can get the Xmas blues at 7:45pm tomorrow night. If we win, Nath and GD supplying the pre xmas booze.
Todays the day to see if Gino's caring sharing approach works better than HIS harsh disciplined approach.................... THREE CHRISTMAS POINTS FOR THE GOLDEN BOYS PLEASE
Did you know that otters eat three times their body weight each day? I've now tried it and although fun can't recommend it for a second day. Looking forward to the football tonight while I recover. Quick fry up in the meantime. COYH.
No they don't - their metabolic rate is about 3 times as high as that for humans and most other mammals, so they eat about 3x as many calories per day relative to their body weight. However, this rather equates to 15-30% of their body weight in food each day. https://www.thoughtco.com/what-do-sea-otters-eat-2291991 https://seaworld.org/animals/all-about/otters/diet/
Disappointing. They need to up their game. I am going for sausages at all 3 meals today. See if they can top THAT.
I think the birds are outdoing the otters. I'm ou to the feeders four times a day with seed, fat balls and apples. No budgies spotted however. COYH!
