I hope this is true. Still won't change the fact that our players are a bunch of ****s, unfortunately.
I was hoping Watford might go into Tier 5, and all games cancelled to spare us any more watching these performances....
As if Howe would touch this with a barge pole! Also, what if Tindall was really the mastermind behind the operation?
Very difficult to be positive right now Woeful performance with schoolboy errors from Foster and capoue How much is down to Ivic who knows. He should have made changes at half time and bewildering changes he did make Got impression though that squad are just mentally weak All very depressing
How can Ivic's claims of wanting attacking football be believed after his shocking game management today? I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Individually the players put in a shift as there was no lack of effort - but a total, utterly shocking lack of direction.
The unsmiling leopard is incapable or unwilling to change his spots. What goes through Ivic’s head? So much so wrong for so long. Not helped by no leadership and not much passion on the pitch today. And 2 brain farts by 2 senior professionals. It’s all so depressing. And I can’t see it changing from this coach. From mild COG to buying my incontinence pads to prevent being full bedwetter... I’m off to drink heavily... Happy Xmas all.
I have to say, I disagree with this part - there was a very obvious lack of effort, application and energy, only ever broken up by our hilarious obligatory 15-20 minutes of harem scarem huffing and puffin shortly after the second half began, after which we, of course, reverted to type. It was so clear that even Emma Saunders and her guests felt the need to discuss it on the Hive Live post-game show. Even they have gone BW, and they are paid by the club.
Yeah they played with all the enthusiasm of a group of players who know the coach is leaving. A few weeks ago they were still trying but it's gradually disappeared.
Agree with this. It's a tough one, but I think I dislike the players more than Ivic, but think Ivic is more incompetent.
"Ivic says Troy Deeney didn't play today because of fatigue, but that he didn't bring him off the bench because of "some discipline issues" - said he doesn't want to explain any more... #WatfordFC" What the **** was he on the bench for then? Parkes not available? Lost complete control.
This is the problem. No signs of progression in terms of style and clear regression in terms of results.
Hold on, WHAT? THE F.UCK? 'Discipline issues', and yet Gray started and played throughout? Treating the fans with contempt to the point of not even bothering to make up a convincing line to explain a decision is just par for the course at this point.
I assume that Nath's suggestion that Deeney is contractually obligated to be in the squad has more weight than we thought.
I genuinely believe it. The man was played week in, week out, with literally one knee, avoids being dropped when in awful form, and now he has a "discipline issue" and STILL can't be left out entirely? The only time he has ever been out of the squad is when he is 100% physically unable to play.
I started writing out an essay about what is wrong - but where to start? I scrubbed it all out. Just dear oh dear. I will say this: People love to blame the lack of effort in a failing team. I think largely that is a misunderstanding. But what if the coach's plans are obviously wrong and the players know it, or if they are plain incomprehensible? I do not understand what Watford are even trying to do. Do the players? How can you do something with energy and enthusiasm when you don't even know what it is?
An utter horror show of a match, line-up and effort which even the most ardent of positive fans can’t defend. They’d look ludicrous even trying. That was a line-up and tactical display that was akin to the manager begging his paymasters to sack him and get him a payoff. Captain dropped for disciplinary reasons, Perica overlooked for Gray and 2 defenders on when chasing the game. Just last week Ivic called Deeney his ‘second coach’ and now they’ve publicly fallen out. Not a good look for what’s going on behind the scenes. If Deeney has broken club code off conduct, then I actually support Ivic dropping him. But Gray over Perica is just mental. Any goodwill has gone. Get him gone by the end of the weekend.
It could be that, or it could be that he’s a genuine toxic influence on the rest of the players and unless he’s played he’s likely to try and turn them against the manager, so maybe most of them just don’t bother and end up continually starting him.
