It was extremely noticeable how much more movement Brentford's players offered, and how much faster they played the ball. Basically the opposite of Ivic-ball.

Was it though? The tv angle wasnt exactly VAR standard was it.

We brought on Capoue to slow it down. This league needs blood and thunder, Capoue is perhaps not the right man for the league despite being streets ahead technically than 99% of the other midfielders in the division?

Sarr won us the penalty and got them down to 10 men. Without him playing we would be worse. Yes he will fall over at times, not get past a man now and again, but he is our only forward impetus in games.

Right now i have no clue as to the team's playing strategy, no clue on GP's strategy for the squad, and I feel a bit embarrassed.
First half we were completely outclassed man for man. On the other hand we do look half decent in the second half if we can play against 10 men.
Oh and Tomey.... Must be the new Zaha...?!!!

We dominated them in the second half even before the sending off, Kabasele let us down he had no reason to raise his hands above his head. I disagree that we didn't look dangerous towards the end, we created several opportunities but were wasteful. No surprise the game was decided by inadequate officials the refereeing in this league is a joke. Brentford are an average to good championship side with a good forward at this level but are nothing special.

Horrendous first half, but actually quite enjoyed the second. Thought we showed some actual attacking intent, pressed better, and looked more coherent. Disappointed not to get the win but think a draw is a fair result, and not a disaster.

Where's the angle showing Sarr is conclusively offside?

We pressed harder right from the start of the second half exerted pressure. Amazingly enough it upset them and their rhythm considering in the first half they waltzed out of our sluggish press. We need to play like that for ninety minutes with aggression and directness. At a high tempo. No team likes to defend against that. We were so poor in that first half. Basically let them have the run of the pitch. Barely any challenges just collapsing into our own box allowing Toney to get his shot off unmolested for instance. Ivic needs to play a tandem upfront and tell his players to play positive football. Not all this safety first stuff he comes up with.

Game of two halfs. They should of won it first 45 we buggered it up 2nd half well in command. Poor from Kabs but he is prone to that and we all know it.

We should of lost, but on another day we win that. I would not really consider that two points dropped since it was a game both sides at this moment in time in the season want to stay in touch with the top. Decent point, win at Huddersfield and it will look pretty good overall.

First half so so poor again. Should of been at least two down, very disappointed. Ivic must of gotten onto them because that second half was really good overall. Problem being our consistency of not being able to keep one goal leads is always going to hurt us. We looked a half decent side in patches, and I think Brentford would of taken a point tonight, so did most of us.

Wr must however stop such silly mistakes at costly times, it's dropping us back. It was important not to lose tonight and considering wde survived that first half debacle we just about did that. Next home game could be massive in terms of where we sit at Xmas, but Huddersfield are no pushovers.

We did to be fair start the 2nd half on the front foot when it was 11 v 11. That is how the sending off came about.

LOL not being 4-0 down at half time as being lucky. We were very poor in the first half. But in the whole game Brentford had 12 shots, and 2 on target.

I mean we were kind of in a false position anyway seeing as we'd managed to avoid most of the top teams up until now yet Bournemouth and Norwich hadn't. Needed to win this one or else Norwich and Swansea become must-win games in terms of the automatics as we're already a little adrift, but if it's any consolation, we're now 4 points clear of 7th. Definitely would have taken that at kick off and at half time, naturally a bit disappointed with only a point now

We were at home, a man up for a third of the match having gone ahead, and you wouldn't call it two points dropped since 'we want to stay in touch with the top'?

How has Garner managed to make his way through Utds academy? If he was actually our player he’d be round Murray’s house watching the game.

Chalobah does a good thing... then just stands back and admires it and loses the ball, so frustrating.

Cleverleys shooting is even worse than Doucoure last season, absolutely shocking.

Perica gets in the places strikers should be, unlike Deeney.

Also fair play to Brentford for realising our limitations and actually making offensive subs after going down to 10.

Dreadful disgraceful first half. Good first 15 mins second. Kabasele thick as mince as usual. Played decent last 30 but subs too late due to Ivic being timid. Garner dreadful again.

Kabasele has been our best CB this season though until now, with some excellent games - is costing us 1 penalty in 16 otherwise good games really that dreadful?

Sarr wasn't offside, the defender had his foot down the other side of the line across the pitch!

Pinnock was a foot in front of Sarr Moog. He was not offside. The penalty is as legitimate as they come. As was theirs unfortunately. What that pillock Kabasele was thinking who knows ? Prat has cost us a win along with the lino despite the appalling first forty five minutes.

I am sureCapoue was introduced to switch the play quickly a tactic that very nearly worked on a few occasions and would have if the linesman could do his job. I thought he was the best player on te pitch when he come on. Cleverley and Chalobah are far too slow and dont have the energy, Garner should start ahead of them both IMO. For me Hughes Capoue and Garner would be ideal.

What's "LOL" about it, exactly? In the first half Toney hit the inside of the post, put a free header inches wide and Brentford had another couple of what could be called at least half chances. Fact.

The fact not all of them were "on target" is exactly part of the luck because they should have put a number away. Obviously.

Summary of who was incredibly poor at what time:

First half- us (bonus points- our dross midfield and Ivic)
Second half- them, the officials and Kabasele. Sarr is unfortunately offside based on the new stupid VAR-enhanced offside rule meaning any part of the body that is playable can be offside (his chest was behind the last man, his legs weren't) and the commentators were thick as pig. Pinnock shouldn't have been sent off, but that was a clear pen. Didn't see the Toney incident with Chalobah as I was elsewhere occupied (tried to do a StuBoy) but apparently that was a pen. Perica was onside when he scored. The officials throughout that match gave most of the 50-50s to Brentford (including that laughable one between Sarr and Henry right at the end). Kabasele for throwing his hands up like an idiot.

I don't fully see the Garner hate as I really do think there's a talented player in there, but a midfield three of Garner, Chalobah and Cleverley should not be done again. Capoue offered much more (although the best sub was Perica). This leads me to the last point- what on earth is Ivic still playing at? I get it, our midfielders (bar Capoue) can't pass for ****. That doesn't mean you make the players play at a walking pace and sit back in our half. I didn't care that Sky were showing the possession stats in the first 5 mins of the game because Brentford weren't doing anything with the ball. I did start to care once they had chances, but all we saw from the team was a continuation of the same slow footy, aimless hoofs as soon as we got the ball and sitting back into the final third.

Decent in so far as well were absolutely woeful in the first 45? I think I would have taken a point at half time to be honest.

Moog is probably going off the Sky Sports commentary which is by far the worst coverage of football on TV.

We commited men into the press but not one of them into making a tackle. The whole point of playing out from the back is to suck the opposition out of their half and then move forward into the space. Watford glady assisted. Terrible game management 1st half.

2nd half, bosh right at them. Forcing mistakes, winning the ball high up the pitch. But as soon as they went to 10, we stopped that tactic and started taking 3 touches on the ball again. Brentford also chucked a 2nd forward on went longer anyway.

I haven’t said he hasn’t been. But the fact he’s only been punished twice for his errors isn’t great either. He makes too many mistakes, simple as that. And they are often errors made in silly circumstances. He could easily have given away 2 more pens this season that have gone unpunished.
