Listening in and it seems we are lucky to still be in the game.
A draw is a win considering that Brentford dominated the game.
    Chalobah, please retire....

To be 1 nil up at home against 10 men and not win is inexcusable

I don't wanna hear any excuses about the Perica offside either, we barely threatened after they equalised

We’re much better 2nd half to be fair. But quality wise we are some way off. Shame for Percia - clear goal. But WTF was that first half all about

Wow. What happened there. What did Ivic say at half time? Or was it Deeney? Stolen second goal. Both pens stonewall. Both lucky and unlucky to have a point. Don't you LOVE football

That was a proper **** show from the officials tonight for both teams. Nearly sending off the wrong man, sending off the guy in the first place, letting fouls go then blowing for absolute no fouls and to top it off a perfectly good winning goal disallowed. The ref had a beer gut ffs is this really how low the standard of refereeing in this country is?

As bad a first half as you could possibly get, much better second half and ultimately should’ve won.

I suppose that was a decent point after another rancid half (this time it was the first though). Think we got a little lucky with the pen, but then had a fair goal chalked off.

Top two places are Muff and Norwich's to lose now I think. This is a battle for the playoffs for us.

Disgusting first half. Vaguely competent second half, although still blighted by individual errors from the usual suspects.

Whatever we are, we’re not a promotion outfit. Although this league is so poor I can’t see us ending up lower than 8th and will no doubt be in the play-off hunt throughout.

    Utter crap. As per usual.

An appalling first half we were lucky not to go in from at 4-0 down. We turn it up a bit in the second half, get a pen, then immediately give one away and proceed to show very little attacking intent against 10 men, at home, until the final couple of minutes, and even then it's nothing but hoofing it long. Pathetic.

I hate this team and I despise Ivic. So, so bored of it all.

    Absolute ******* ****.

We have been riding on the home form, but that is wavering and we've been riding our luck a lot too. Today, even with more than our share of luck, we scraped a draw at home against 10 men.

The way we approach the game is reprehensible. It's disgusting. I hate our version of football. It's not even all about being defensive or solid. It seems to stem from an idealogical hatred of attacking football or any sort of joy in the game.

I feel sorry for anyone who went to that and anyone who tuned in as a neutral. We are a disgrace to this division under Ivic.

Bournemouth and Norwich are already putting distance between themselves and the likes of us. Despite picking up 3 more points than we deserve this week, we are still drifting away and we are heading in one direction.

This is not a promotion side and Ivic is not a winning manager. He should be sacked in the morning for the way he has us playing and we need to write this season off and start working out how we can rebuild our squad and get rid of utter garbage like Chalobah, Cleverley, Deeney and Gray. And Sarr.

First half performance was absolutely shameful.
An ounce of credit to Ivic for, for once, apparently motivating the players to improve at the break .
Officials were awful for both sides.
Toney was brilliant and had our defence on toast.
Perica seems to get himself in goalscoring positions and I think has to start alongside Troy.
We could have won that, but we easily could have lost as well if Brentford had been more clinical.
Did I mention that first half?
I am still firmly in the Ivic out camp, if we are aiming for promotion this season.

In what world is it in any way a "decent point"? Why do people always feel the need to say this any time we scrape a point, no matter the circumstances?

We went 1-0 up against 10 men at home and failed to win the game. There's nothing "decent" about it.

Great point for Brentford, pretty appalling one for us in context. First half possibly the worst half we've played this season, and that is really, truly saying something. We huffed and puffed for 15 minutes after the break and that was it, really.

In the name of our club, just go now Ivic.

Back to your tinpot Middle Eastern League, taking with you your negative, rotten, stinking brand of football. Your pathetic team selections, your misguided loyalties to the same few players each time, your worthless excuses every time your coaching bd tactics fail to produce good performances or results.

    You are not wanted here.

Please leave our club to those of us who enjoy entertainment. Who want to see football played the right way. Who want to see underperforming players dropped and others given a chance.

You’ve turned Watford FC into a joyless place. You’ve sucked all the life and pleasure out of one of our very few escapes during this miserable year we are all living through.

I just despair of what our club has become.

Our goal came from a penalty from an offside position and if they weren't down to ten, would we have had the offside goal, or would they have just gone on to batter us? We got the better of the dodgy decisions IMO.

Entertaining 2nd half. Ref got involved too with some tosh decisions and Pericas goal was onside. We did more in the 5 minutes after half time than we did in the 135 combined before that. Explain that?

Our aim from having the ball is sometimes to recycle/regurgitate it back to the centre halves. Something has always irritated me about that. You have a midfielder not play a 20 yard ball up to Deeney, but move it back to the centre back to play a 60 yard ball to Deeney. Waste of time and waste of possession.

First half appalling. Second half bossed it. Showed Brentford to be pretty average. Clear penalty. No offside. Don't know what the floppy haired tosspot Frank was moaning about.

Then Kabasele. What an absolute *****. Needless penalty. Then contrives to nearly get sent off.

Then the lino. What a *****. Perica timed his run perfectly. Joke decision. Also that challenge down Sarrs shin warranted a red card.

Brentford turds throwing themselves all over the place at the slightest contact being bought by the dumbest trio of officials ever to grace (I use the word advisedly) a pitch. Play with some positive intent Ivic and we will get results. Like playing a tandem upfront. Shame Ivic did not KO the lino and Frank at the end. He's perfectly capable of it.

Two points thrown away. We need to up our game. Still made one of the so called fancied sides look pretty ordinary in that second half. Why we cannot play with that urgency and aggression from the start beats me.

Awful first half, better second. Perica so unlucky.

But... I cannot get over how bad our players' game intelligence is. We had an extra player and yet we committed so many stupid fouls that killed any momentum. Ngakia, Sarr, Deeney, Kabasele, Sema, Ekong - all of them contributed to stopping us building up a head of steam.

The other thing we did was continuously ignore free players closer to us to try underhit long balls which inevitably ended up in... yet another foul being given away.

Also, twice Sema got away inside the box and twice players pulled back and he played it back to them for them to mess their shots up. When he's cutting in like that, they should be running into the six yard box for him to blast it across hard and low.

On the plus side, Capoue was majestic when he came on. Please never play Garner ahead of him again.

Awful call for the Perica offside - unforgivable.

But equally unforgivable was that opening 45 mins. And not at any point playing like we were the team with an extra player and exploiting it. Brentford made positive attacking changes when down to 10 men before we even thought about taking advantage of the situation.

And when Ivic finally feels like going for it, it’s far too late and with Brentford set in their shape.

He’s just not a manager for English football.

    • Femenia our best player.
    • Sarr dangerous at time but largely garbage considering the expectation.
    • Kabasele cannot continually be forgiven for costing us points. Indefensible.
    • Ekong far and away our worst player tonight and never looked switched on.
    • Send Garner back - utter tosh.
    • We must start Perica. No debate.

Indeed, but you'd expect to see the attacker get the benefit of the doubt, I genuinely would not have complained had the penalty incident had been on the other foot. Whether it should have been a red card or not, I don't know, and I don't care

Glad to be in the game after that 1st half when we should have been a few goal down!

But then they had 10 men and we looked more positive 2nd half with 2 up front.

Ref was poor for both and assistant had a shocker !

Firstly, Sarr was actually offside for the disallowed Perica goal (even though the lino put his flag up against Perica), so we can't feel too aggrieved about that really.

However, that move still underlined my main continued grievance, which is that Perica isn't getting played enough. Yet again, he demonstrated in little time what a huge difference it makes actually having a striker with good movement and some sharpness, he actually gets on the end of things and looks a threat. Troy continues to be miles away from any balls put in to the box and is like playing with (a large) half a man.

I thought it was a pen, but I was surprised a red was given, I thought the double-jeopardy law being introduced would have meant he should have only got a yellow.

The first half demonstrated what our biggest deficiency is - we have too few players with pace able to burst forwards with the ball, it's not a surprise we struggle to play attacking football. Only Femenia and Sarr can really beat a man. Sema seems to be only capable of playing for about 10 minutes a match. All of our CMs are way too static. We desperately need at least one other forward, wide forward, or attacking midfielder capable of dribbling passed a player and providing some extra attacking impetus and make us less slow and one-dimensional.

Overall a draw was probably a fair result.

FIFA think our officials are pretty sh ite. They for once are not wrong. Not a chance we send a referee to the 2022 World Cup. You get better referees from Paraguay and Chile.

Would've taken a point before the game. Would've bitten your hand off if you offered me the point at HT and yet I'm disappointed we didn't nick that.

Sincerely hope we don't see the midfield trio of Garner, Cleverley and Chalobah again (although we'll see exactly this on Saturday). A midfield with 2 of them (+ someone else) is fine, but all 3 together is just so bland and offers nothing different. Don't get me all wrong, all decent enough all rounders , but that's all they are - decent enough. Average in possession, average in defence, although slightly above average in work-rate. That sort of quality is fine if you're playing teams in the bottom half every week but we don't have that luxury and it shows when we play a good side. I know Capoue hasn't really set the league on fire this season but he has to start the next game as he offers something a bit different to the others.

Bear in mind, though, that that fancied side spent 2/3rds of that second half with a man down, and at almost no point looked like it, continuing to threaten basically as much as we did.
