Appalling person. And a hypocrite of the highest order. She makes me cringe when she appears on television. Seediness personified. Should have been sacked like Cummings straight away along with her thick chums.

It's what he's been waiting for. A third time to break the rules - lets be honest it'll be the only hattrick he'll ever get.

When I worked in broadcasting she had a reputation even then as being a vile person whose ambition knew no bounds. It’s always surprised me that she has done so well, particularly since I don’t think she’s that good a presenter - she’s always struck me as being pretty thick.

Doesn’t sound like much of a punishment 6 months on FULL pay!

Evidently, hiding out in Richard Branson's South African Game Reserve. There she'll be able to prove that she's got thicker skin than a rhino and an elephant sized hubris to match. Perhaps someone could leave a door open there so she could be devoured by Lions. Mind you, what Lion would find her appetising. It would probably rather eat its own sick.

I'm amazed she had the energy to DO anything.
She has always appeared as if she needed to be plugged in at the mains.

People from all walks of life are having parties and breaking the rules. People from all walks of life are not having parties and are not breaking the rules.

Celebrities are just people like the rest of us, with a myriad of different opinions and behaviours. It makes me laugh when people view them as some special breed, different from the rest of us.

    Gray is a **** though.

I think that's true, but the point of the article is that rich people are not deterred by the prospect of a fine and are more likely to do what they like because of it.

Might they not be deterred by bad publicity, though?

Rich people are never going to be deterred solely by financial sanctions in whatever field of life we are dealing with. It's not specific to lockdown.

You would hope so, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Of course it's difficult to tell if there are more celebrity transgressions than in the general population.

The punishment is rarely a deterrent for crime though. People in america are still murdering each other, despite the punishment being death in some places. Everyone can effortlessly afford to pay a speeding fine, but not everyone speeds.

However, people with planet-sized egos crave positive attention and fawning fans. Getting caught with their hand in the till in such a public way, while exposing them as an arch-hypocrite, in a time of crisis will hopefully cause them inexorable torment as the A-list invites dry up, the public gives you the bird, and the gutter press turns on you and gives all your publicity a very negative slant.
