What do you mean ‘if true’? He’s literally pictured doing it and directly quoted by the paper apologising? It’s true.

What an absolute prat, might be my least favourite watford player of all time and we have had some stinkers.

 

I think there are 2 clear options that would satisfy most parties:
A) Fire him
B) Fire him in to the sun

Really don’t care which one we go with.

 

The best I can say about this is: we can do without him.

 

I completely agree that Gray's behaviour here is moronic, particularly as someone in the public eye who represents the football club. I am also no fan of his on the pitch - he looks a shadow of the player he was when he scored goals at this level before, his touch and movement is truly terrible, and there are times when he looks as though he has thrown the towel in.

It is all the more disappointing as I actually think that some of the criticism he gets off the pitch is unjustified. His interview last week showed him to be relatively articulate, humble, and surprisingly honest.



Don't get me wrong if there was a way to get him off the wage bill, I'd snap your hand off.

2250 people is a pretty decent sample size. The researchers would feel pretty confident understanding overall opinions/ changes to opinions based on that, to a small percentage (1-3%) percent margin of error.

You’re right that sample bias may be an issue (especially for an omnibus survey) but I imagine they will have planned, weighted and provided incentives to overcome this.

It is a shame they haven’t done follow up qualitative research to explore participants understanding of compliance. From my experience, a whole load of people judge others for breaking the rules, but are tricking themselves into thinking their rule breaking is less important/ allowed.

problem with sacking him over this (even it were possible) is that you set a precedent and would have to sack anyone else that did the same, which might include someone who is actually good at football

 

He has been an idiot and should be heavily fined

All very well saying he should be sacked but he still a saleable asset albeit not at 18m and we cant afford to let him go for nothing

 

He's likely to be out for 3-4 weeks for a hamstring issue anyway. Let's hope he heals in time to pass his medical somewhere else in January.

This stunt could have cut another million off his value, as we'll be more desperate to get rid than ever. Let's hope a rich championship club desperate for goals will take a chance on him based on his past record.

Not bad for a ‘tongue-in-cheek’ post that isn’t at all beyond the realms of believability.

 

I really hope this isn’t swept under the carpet by the club...given how public the club like to be about their support for the NHS and Watford General (rightly so), whilst I was willing to forgive the first instance, I was disappointed that the ‘apologies’ came individually on their social media and the club only went so far over the incident.

Some fans don’t have social media etc. The club should be pretty open about this the second time around I think and let fans know their opinion on it. The player has lost most of his rights to a private hearing given there is literally no excuse for what he’s done.

Opinion is divided on Gray.
Andre believes he is a useful weapon,especially in this division.
Everyone else thinks he is woefully ill equipped to be an elite footballer and now seems to be thicker than a whale omelette to boot.
