and Murray wouldn't be there ,as he had to run for the team bus and missed it. but seriously Sarr's crossing is not consistent and to only rely on a ball in between the defender and goalkeeper is a big flaw. as i have mentioned on numerous post our possession rate has been low in all matches and we haven't got a clinical Vardy type of finisher at the club to compensate, gray doesn't give the impression of blistering pace and his first touch is appalling , whilst Murray has probably got the guile but would be still 20 yards away . beginning to think that Ivic, with his team formations so far, is just a foreign Pullis / Pardew/Houghton . Watford's dna is or used to be high tempo football
" A diddly dum dee dee dee dee dee dee,dee dee,a diddly dum dee dee dee dee dee dee,dee dee a diddly diddly diddly dum a diddly diddly diddly dum Troooy Deee ney TalkSport's number 9". Apologies if I've missed a 'diddle' or indeed a 'dee'.
Came out on Instagram but The Sun definitely ran one of the first stories on it. 'Love rat' was certainly mentioned
Wouldn't be anything to do with huge wads of cash,an apartment in Madrid and a stack of French Porn would it?
https://twitter.com/talksport/status/1323170479247601664?s=21 This is why I’m all for Deeney leaving. Besides the obvious injury issues and questionable priorities with him doing all this media work: it does expose him as pretty dense and not used to anyone disagreeing with him. He’s visibly very miffed about this guy having a different opinion and fighting his corner.
Comes across like a pr*ck in this. Also a little ironic he calls Harry Maguire out on being the captain and not leading the ship despite Deeney captaining us to relegation last season.
Are we going to get clips of his radio show performance and the throw hands in the air reaction about it every week? Isn't what he says irrelevant to Watford fans unless he mentions Watford? I genuine couldn't give a **** about what he thinks about Harry ******* Maguire.
I must not be the only one thinking this, but on the face of it, it appears Troy Deeney has effectively left the club or, more likely, significantly altered his contract with Watford FC. He was a full time professional player but now has a contract as a radio presenter and newspaper (rag) columnist. If I was a football club owner, I would not want my highly paid players taking up other contracts of employment, particularly those that could lead to conflict of interest claims or possibly be subject to charges of bringing the game in disrepute. I would be insisting that the player focus on rehab and getting back on the field. The distractions of the jobs that he has taken on are not suitable for a current professional player. The above discussion is a case in point. It would be very dangerous territory for him to discuss referees' performances or comment on players or teams that he could be playing against, in his capacity as a journalist or presenter? It is a very strange scenario and the only thing I can think of is that we reached an accommodation with him, once his move to a prem team did not materialise and we are facilitating his post retirement career in exchange for a drop in salary. I may not be up to speed and he might have referred to his position as a part time media professional and footballer in his newspaper columns, but I have not, nor would not, read that publication.
Watford fans don't want to hear from Troy Deeney so why on earth would anyone else want to? Save this **** for your retirement, Troy.
Well we probably won’t be playing Man U for a whilst so taking about them probably doesn’t matter. Man U have had a bad start - anyone can say that. Going by yesterday’s game like us the lack of attacking threat seemed to be the main issue rather than poor defensive play. As someone says on that Twitter page Troy is perfect for TS. Says what he thinks to create “debate” or controversy. Like Durham and co.

He's looking fitter, maybe he had a reality check when no PL team came in for him, and has stopped believing the media hype about him still being PL standard. He has probably finally realised he is not the player he once was and now knows he has to knuckle down to even get a place in our team, which is probably a good thing for both him and WFC.
Looked really trim yesterday, don't know what he's lost but I'd say a lot. Should make him much sharper.
Is there a good source for record appearances for the club? The only one I found for all competitions has the following top 9. It was quite old but I couldn't think of anyone to get into the list since it was made. Leading appearance makers 503 - Luther Blissett 491 - Nigel Gibbs 472 - Gary Porter 457 - Duncan Welbourne 442 - Tommy Barnett 432 - Arthur Woodward 428 - Kenny Jackett 419 - Johnny Williams 404 - Wilf Rostron I don't know if that makes Deeney #10 or whether there are others around the 400-403 mark
I have been looking at the opposition forums this season and they all fear Deeney. I predict he'll score over 15 goals this season en route to us topping the league and winning one of the most historic and beautiful trophies in all of world sport. Cementing his place as our most legendary player ever. And we were there to witness him.
Not sure this is right - got 2 years left hasn’t he ? https://the72.co.uk/200007/watford-facing-crunch-talks-with-32-y-o-in-january/
The '2 years left' story only emerged this summer and may have been a negotiation ploy like the photo of Suarez and Estupiñan looking like watford players. Up til this summer the story was Troy signed a 5 year contract for around 65k/week before the start of the Mazzarri season. So hopefully expires at the end of the season.
I noticed he tried to talk about Cassetti but no-one hardly replied Tweet wise. Anything else and it's hundreds so guess you have to be controversial to be noticed.
It’s a shame that the club captain sees fit to disparage his teammates’ abilities in a silly club YouTube video about Football Manager ratings.
Probably supposed to be house banter taking the mick out of other players - Bachmann and Wilmot did the same last week. I am sure they'll get over it - probably won't be the first time Troy has tried to slag them off.
Oh give over, they’ve all done it. He was also saying how much better than their ratings some players were. Boring agenda. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Another Cult of Troy. Everyone else has been saying the stats are harsh. Deeney just slagged his teammates off.
Today equalled Ross Jenkins in scoring in 11 consecutive seasons for us. He’s also scored 5 times in his last 5 starts, although 4 were penalties.
