Think we will be improved with Hughes and Gray. Defensively we look pretty average, despite Ivics supposed organisational skills

Lucky, Lucky, Lucky. No way should our first goal stood, our defending on both Stoke goals was pathetic but we got lucky and won. Three point, thanks very much.

    Oh and Hive out.....

I disagree because we created a fair number of chances.
The fact we didn't have a striker on and then had Gray meant we had little threat in the area the whole match.
When Perica or Deeney can offer us a proper presence in the centre then more goals will follow.
The wing backs left our 3 centre backs exposed and to be honest they don't look up to the task.
I hope William is back on Saturday.

What's the controversy with our first goal? Genuine question - I skipped the first half.

Agree we need to improve but miles better than Stoke. Can only get better with the bench looking much stronger now. Keeping the faith until we lose the next one.

Cleverley's shot clearly didn't go over the line. Pedro then bundled the keeper into his own net and the ref gave it. Bizarre.

Another very average performance and we continue to look worse in defence with every passing game.

It would have been great to have been there, the emotional release when the third went in would have been massive. It would have changed our perception of the game as well, we would probably look at it move favourably than we do watching from home.

    Happy Lockdown 2.0 all.

We desperately needed that win after a poor run. We dominated but still conceded 2 goals, who barely had a shot.

Hope they managed to get highlights after this debacle.

Typical Watford - we score a last minute winner and no-one hardly sees it!

    Classic.

Not sure what to say as didn't see much.

Least someone else can score a penalty and we looked a bit more dangerous at times.

    Sema and Kiko sounded good.

Usual rubbish defending from set plays and letting them back in it.

    We are 4th somehow!

And we got some luck with the first goal.

Cleverley shot hit underside of the bar, not clear if crossed the line but didn't look like it, Pedro barged the keeper over the line with the ball in his hands and that's probably when the technology bleeped. Then a big old discussion on the side and the ref couldn't rule it out as can't see the footage anywhere.

Good result. Always love a last minute winner!

Distinctly average for the main part and will struggle to get out of this league unless the performances improve consistently. Better in possession, if not still a little ponderous. Still creaking when put under pressure. Chalobah has been poor again - but Capoue has been no better and neither of them are providing an effective screen for the backline.

Wilmot needs dropping - but please change the shape when doing so! This formation just doesn't suit us defensively...

Stoke will rightfully be aggrieved with the officials tonight.

Hard to say much about this performance but I did think that we were playing much nicer football until the Hive went off and it looked like Capoue was controlling the game in the middle. Yes we got a bit lucky possibly with the goal but 67% possession and 12 shots against a strong Stoke side are good stats. Going from what Mooney and Jon Marks were saying it seems like Sarr played well. No idea if he got better but Wilmot was all over the place in the first 20 minutes. Home game against Coventry coming up if we get 3 points there we may even be going into the international break with nearly a full squad and in the automatic promotion places.

After lockdown last season...Home 7 points Away 0 points

    This season..Home 13 points Away 5 points

We have become such a home v away team and therein lies the problem behind our relegation and our occasional stutter so far this campaign.

I fear the Americans might even have chosen their next President before we next win on the road.

First time this season we’ve let in more than one goal, but as we scored three (well, sort of lol) I’m not complaining.

For all the talk of us not having a proper number 9, Pedro and Sarr have scored 6 between them now, which isn’t too too bad.

4 assists for Sema now for the season.

And we’ve scored all three of our penalties this campaign, despite not having TD to take them..

Worked hard for that and deserved it the second half alone. Equaliser was a very lucky goal, but we pressed much better after the break and great winner from Sarr.

Still very concerned with the overall formation and the first 15mins were very poor. Defending for the first was Sunday league at best. Nice Pen by Pedro but then slack again to let them back in. Looked like a draw but credit we dug this one out the fire.we need to be more ruthless in attack especially at home, where we are playing some good stuff.

Ivic needs to find a system that works away from home now, because suddenly our meam defense looks a bit suspect. Stoke are a good side and very physical, but we did much better today, so pleased overall.

That lucky first goal could have saved Vlad his job! Still, we deserved a bit of luck from the officials after the Muff game. Much needed points before we can regroup during the international break.

Sarr's finishing is all over the place, but in his all-round contribution he's demonstrating why he's too good for this league and how important it is that we held on to him.

Does anyone other than @reids still think Wilmot is good with the ball at his feet? Blimey. Vokes as a super-sub seems to be a bit of a bogey-man for us as well, beat Wilmot to the flick to set up their second goal. That winning goal he scored just after coming on at Turf Moor two seasons ago is still annoying.

Chalobah did well to stay on the pitch passed half-time - Hughes being fit enough to start ahead of him can not come soon enough.

Credit to Sema for an excellent second half, he caused them a lot of problems and showed the quality and composure in picking out Sarr that some of our other players have been too often failing to produce when getting in to good positions in the final third.

Cracking 3-2 result. Time to look at the table as 10 games have happened to see how we measure up against the rest of the league...……….. oh look. A play off place. 4th. Niice. Good job Ivic so far. You are doing things your way and so far giving the team a chance of going up.

    We actually saw 36 mins, therefore £10 divided by 90 x 36 = £4 I’m surprised they haven’t said you can have £6 back!

They say don’t look at the table until 10 games, well it’s 10 games now. Joint 3rd with Norwich on equal
GD, 1 point above Bournemouth and 4 points off the top.

We’ve yet to play well, yet with 10 games gone we are where we are. As **** as we’ve been 20 teams are *******.

If we improve, at all, then we’ll go up.

    Thats about it.

Any Stoke fans tuning in.... Sorry about the first goal, refs had a shocker. But sorry, not sorry. It's the sort of decision that saw us relegated so I'll take one the other way.

Something isn't right about the team, disjointed or lack of linkage between thirds of the pitch. We seem to have possession nicely but often too deep and after 7 passes, It's back to Foster to hoof up to a lone forward who loses it. Too many times we've got an extra man at the back doing nothing when there's no midfield to progress. If it all feels like a new manager trying to instill a new formation on a higgledy piggeldy squad with no left footed defenders then thats what it is. There's some positives though and if we can get that bit of cohesion and belief we might be awesome, but it's really not there yet by some distance.

Does the ref have to put the goalscorers into his match report? If he lists Cleverley it would mean he thought the first shot was in, otherwise it would be an own goal by Gunn.

I think the key in away games this season will be trying to score first and invite teams onto us, we did it against Wycombe but that whole performance was mis jointed. But I can see us having some joy on the road this season if we start scoring first and then counter attacking teams if they give us space. The home form is very encouraging.

Great result back up to 4th

Our 1st goal was a joke - feel sorry for Stoke
The pen was.lucky as I’m not sure Sarr would have put kit in the back of the net if he hadn’t been fowled
3rd goal class by Sema, who had obviously had enough of crossing it in

if we had a 20 goal a season striker on the pitch we would be laughing , JP , Sarr and Clevs are doing well with goals but we need somebody sitting in the middle banging them in

If we'd known that we'd scored that way, it's one of those occasions where you should allow the opposition to score. The difficulty is, no-one could be sure that it wasn't Cleverley's shot that led to the goal and you're not going to hand them a goal back in those circumstances. They'll be fuming and rightly so. We were also absolutely dreadful up until that point and didn't look like getting anything from the game so to come away with three points is great, even if the manner we got back into the game is a little embarrassing.

Also, that was one of the worst starts to a game ever. Kick off, long ball that we head out, two terrible attempted clearances, get it away at third time of asking, long ball back in, Wilmot had his boots on the wrong feet, sliced it out for a corner under no pressure at all. Short corner, nice routine but pretty telegraphed and no-one switched on at all. That's not on Ivic. That's about four different players all being half asleep when they went out there and failing to do the basics.

Thank goodness for that, then! Always glad for a smash and grab win, though it'd be utterly churlish to say that its problem solved.

Still very worried about Ivic and his demented centre back lust....

But hey, 3 points and 3 goals are very welcome.

Hoping (against hope possibly) that this is the start of the turnaround.

    Boom.
Like everyone else, my viewing experience was... less than ideal. But we did look better today, from what I could see. Sarr dangerous... but how important is King Ken proving. Love him.
Has to be said we did get laughably lucky with the officials today. Championship refs are a different breed. Unreal. Is Pedro getting an assist for his push on their keeper??
The fact that we've been fairly crap all season and are still in 4th is pretty reassuring and bodes well for the rest of the season IF we can find a way of playing that suits us better.
Let's have another win on Saturday!

It wasn't like that in the second half.
The wing backs decided not to go back and it left the 3 exposed-particularly from long balls.
Offensively it meant we put in lots of decent crosses and just need a 9.
Although it wasn't the greatest game or performance the second half showed what we can do and with the right players playing in the right positions we will be much better.
Ivic turned this game around at half time so time to praise him tonight.

Nice try, but I never said he was good with the ball at his feet - just simply gave reasons why his passing accuracy is slightly worse than our other CBs. Better luck next time though!
