What a team. Easy easy win tonight. Might even stick 7 past them again (hopefully we'll spread the goals out this time lol)
We're only a few games into the season and haven't played since Friday, and you'd think if anyone can handle it then it'd be the likes of Ngakia. Serial crock Chalobah is somehow clearly deemed capable of handling the schedule...
I don't mind WTE being rested after his little knock against Derby, I'd imagine he'd be right back in the team for Bournemouth (and besides, Cathcart is a fine replacement), and I don't even mind Femenia instead of Ngakia (pretty sure he's played every minute of the league campaign, and Kiko is fine at RWB) but Chalobah and Cleverley still together? JP and Sarr up top together again and no out and out striker? Perica hasn't played for a month, and he's played about 70 minutes since March ffs, if anything he needs the minutes rather than a rest
No Ngakia, no Capoue, no Perica no Ekong? Well maybe Capoue starting from the bench is not so bad as he has not played for so long, but I'm not getting the rest of them?
Why not? Is there a rule that if you haven't played for a while you HAVE to be a sub? He's not coming back from a serious injury.
Capoue hasn't kicked a ball for months. You'd throw him straight in? I'm just pleased to still see him in our colours.
He hasn't played a competitive game in a similar equivalent to a normal off season. He's still being training, not been injured, has been back with the squad fully for the past couple of weeks and has been deemed fit. It's really not that strange a concept. People are talking as if he's coming back from a broken leg or an ACL tear. It seems there will be an excuse for every game this season as to why we never pick our best players/team.
Well the bench is about 1000000 times stronger than the last game. Pedro/Sarr didn't really work last time round... need a lot more support from the wing backs bombing forward. At least we have options now if it's not going our way. Feeling cautiously optimistic. 4-0 Blackburn, tough evening for the hornets.
Seems foolish - we were toothless in the Reading game, so why repeat the exercise now that we've finally got a CF available again in Perica? Would be amusing if the same happens again, meaning our worst performances will have coincided with the only two games Sarr will have started thus far.
Meanwhile in the Champions League, Jose Holebas lines up against Pape Gueye tonight. It's a strange world.
Regarding WTE, if VI isn't 100% certain on him following his knock against Derby then it's right to bench him for tonight, he'll only be brought on if need be, otherwise I agree with @Hogg-DEENEY!!! that he may start v Muff on Saturday.
What do you think the genuine reason for Capoue being on the bench is, out of interest? Or is it just a mistake from Ivic?
Makes a bit of sense, giving Ngakia a break and recalling Garner. Sema has to play LWB again! Hopefully the lads will understand that they can’t play every game and are together to win against Blackburn. C’mon you orns!
Sarr started against Luton so tonight is his third start. Every line up this season has been frustrating when announced. But Ivic isn’t deliberately picking a weaker line up so we don’t win. Well I hope not at least! He must have his reasons for rotating or easing injured players back gradually. I agree he seems over-cautious, but in reality we will only really know that once the season is done. Rotation is such a hard thing to prove either way that it works or not. If we win tonight and then Ngakia plays a blinder on Saturday, it could be argued that it has. Or if he doesn’t get a hamstring injury or whatever over the coming weeks etc.
