To me it's as simple as, if we'd had a decent delivery from set pieces we'd not have gone down. 5 or 6 more goals a season from corners and free kicks would have been enough.

 

Same. I refuse to watch streams with fake noise. I need real fan noise on the screen to give real insight.

 

Did we even score from a corner last season. I honestly can't recall one.

Sometimes it's difficult to tell ! Not easy to see the humour/sarcasm in that post .
The next few weeks will be painful as we will need to sell a combination of players, and it will be players others want to buy rather just players we'd like to sell. The club has to pretend that Sarr, Estap.... (never bothered to learn to spell his name), Suarez etc aren't for sale to avoid even further price erosion. The social media pics are for potential buyers to see not us. My guess is Sarr and Suarez will both go, not sure about Capoue as the fee will be negligable but the salary saving huge, Not sure anyone will want Deeney (I assume Murray was bought as they assumed they could shift him), but Gino and Scott will be doing the maths and working out who needs to be sold and who can be retained. It would be crazy for us to be able to keep a £40m player who was a star at Rennes who finished 4th(?) in the French league and will be in the champ league this year. All the messages are that he's happy to stay, we don't need to sell etc.....that is just to keep the price up otherwise he'd have already gone for £25m...

 

It will be interesting to see the squad Saturday. If either Sarr and Suarez are included. Would they risk them if they want them out?

 

Yes will be interesting. Do they want to protect sale value ? Do they think the players will get stuck in and give 100% ? Will the players actually want to play and risk injury ?

Just checked and he's from Sweden which has a relatively small population and a monarchy, so the odds are pretty high that he is.

 

It's great that we can't go back and edit past comments, it truly shows how clueless most of us (me included) are on here, especially those with the 'louder' voices.

 

Yeah, had a couple of decent games now that we've dropped down a division so he's completely proven himself.

 

Yeah, silly to rate him after a well-performing full season in Serie A, and a promising start to the season with us.

Definitely more reasonable to label him as awful after 4 league starts, like you did.

So good in Serie A, in fact, that not a single club in that league tried to keep him there in any meaningful way and he's now back here playing in the second tier for us.

He was awful in the Premier League, hence why we shipped him out. Nowhere near good enough. I'm also not sure what the difference is between calling him awful after 4 starts at that level (which pretty much proved to be true), compared to people now talking like he was some sort of masterful signing who it was foolish to have ever doubted because he's had a two good games in the Championship a couple of years on.

 

Udinese fans seemed to like him, and he was one of their highest rated players on whoscored, if that means **** all.

Linked with Fiorentina and Inter Milan. Fair play to him for seemingly being happy to stay. A player agreeing to wearing the shirt of the club who pays him. What a novelty! Think most people are rightly saying he can be an important player for us at this level, along with a couple of pretty obvious tongue in cheek comments.

 

Harsh when never really given a sustained run in the league. Especially coming from an average league in Sweden. He went out on loan and has proved he's more than capable. Doucs was on the verge at being pushed out on loan and he ended up proving that he was more than capable. Why cant Ken Sema go on and do the same?

 

I like Sema. And he has obvious potential at this level and hopefully beyond.

However, we are just a few games in and some on here have him nailed on as a starter who no incoming player could possibly displace from the team. It’s a bit overboard this early on and I think he needs to be properly judged over a broader number of games.

 

You don’t get to be called the king for nothing. Set-up the winner against the scum = club legend

 

I get the feeling if he hadn't had that season with us and gone straight on loan to Udinese and played like he did there, he'd have been sold just like Suarez and Estupinan. As it is, he'd already been here for a season, wasn't agitating for a move, so we didn't have to see for under the odds. He might only be worth £5-10m to Inter Milan, Fiorentina or Brighton, but a fit and motivated King Ken could be worth so much more than that to us

 

I think he's been one of the more impressive players so far, not irrelevant that of our 4 (yes that many) goals, he's been involved in 3 of them. Almost makes me wish he'd taken that most irrelevant of penalties ever at Newport. Is he going to win the Baloon Door? no, but he's reliable, hard working, committed, and very talented at this level. </transfernews>

He will be. But nobody can knock his start in the Championship.

 

Sema is doing alright considering he's not really a wing back, not sure who the better option is in Ivic's formation.
