He would be used as a winger and in his best position. 3421 defending 343 attacking. It’s how fast we can transition and how fast these players react. This could really work out for Vlad as a front 3 of Pedro Sarr and gray could be very fast and alternate position. Also last season I thought Sarr worked hard at getting back and defending. I thought it was £22 + 3 in add ons? JP can play wide right if he has to. As the last 2 seasons have shown King Ken is wasted on the right but can Lord it up anywhere on the left. Keir Starmer style.
Have you learned nothing? Didn't you say it would be £30m for Estupinan and £40m for Doucouré? No way in the world are we holding out for £40m + add ons.
Paedo is a bit harsh. She was 15 and he was 27. His behavior was pretty abhorrent due to the coercion involved but I wouldn't call him a paedo.
There's no way he's leaving/this is actually a good deal for us. Allows us to cut out cloths and give our heads a wobble.
Totally agree. I had this conversation years back with my 15 year old stepdaughter who was dating a then 18 year old. The law is the law and cannot and shouldn't be bent in anyway.
Liverpool only want Sarr so he can't score against them, they don't actually want to play him in the team. They'll just sit him on their mantelpiece and admire him.
You need to give your head a shake, then a wobble, make sure it’s screwed on properly and then, er, well that will do for a start.
If we are going to lose Sarr this window, having too massive massive clubs like Utd and Liverpool battle it out for his signature may not be a bad thing all told. It could mean we get more than a fiver, a packet of crisps and a pat on the head for him. I'm not adverse to these heavyweights of the game battling it out for a player that plays at a tinpot club.
It's no wonder our players take so long to heal when his solution is always: Ooh ee ooh aah ahh ting tang Walla walla bing bong.
Clubs don’t battle it out in that manner though - well, rarely anyway. I doubt they would just keep bidding like an auction and keeping offering more until one backs off. In most cases, they would just match one another’s bid and let the player decide. I really don’t see a scenario where one of them bids £35m and they keep going higher and higher.
If Liverpool or Man Utd come calling he is gone. Will expect some major transfer dealings from us though with the cash we get.
Of course. Hence why I said rarely it does happen. But neither seem desperate for him as they would have made their move already - at least you’d reasonably think so anyway. I suspect of two clubs wanted him, they’d likely just match one another’s bid and then try and offer the selling club more favourable payment terms. Or just blow the other out of the water with their contract offer.
Plenty of Twitter noise stating Liverpool have today made an opening bid of £25m. That's pounds not euros, so must be tempting.
Bite their arms of. £25m nearer to the £100m shortfall in the accounts and the point that we can start rebuilding with Hutchison and co.
If its noise from Liverpool fan accounts or anyone with a footballer as their Twitter Avatar, file away under 'nonsense'. I really think with Liverpool being wary of what they spend presently, the time to worry will be when they look to be shifting an overseas player out. They don't currently have a space for Sarr in the squad and I can't see them bringing him in before opening up a space.
Limits our loss on the player to around £10m for a player in the last year of contract and also throwing away £200m through no promotion. Cracking business if true.
I’ve just done a search of his name on Twitter and the only account I can see reporting this is WD18 or whatever they are called - and they’ve not shared any link or source? Where have you seen the rest of the noise from?
Rumours now that Liverpool are trying to take Dembele on loan from Barca. Would only be a good thing. Wouldn't surprise me if Bayern came in for Sarr - Leventhal mentioned yesterday that there is interest from abroad and Bayern are looking for a winger.
You're spot on with your Liverpool theory of foreign players. Could one of them be linked with us in some kind of exchange? Say Marko Grujic for instance. This is purely a shot in the dark on my behalf though.
Sadly Grujic falls into that category of players who would have been excellent additions had we remained in the PL but now beyond us. Looking at the players in their foreign spots, can't see anything realistic coming the other way. Talking of Grujic though, certainly not a bad shout of it being him they move out to create space - Hertha Berlin are huge fans of his after his loans there and Liverpool are bringing in a CM in Thiago which will only make breaking into their team even harder. One to watch.
