This completely contradicts what he said last week though?

Was that before or after he was sacked?

While I get your point, in this day and age, anything other than a denial will have people thinking it’s true.

I’m now leaning much more into thinking it’s a case of Chinese Whispers that many, including myself, have believed and passed on (in good faith). I suspect Pearson has laid into Masina rather strongly but nothing perhaps that has crossed a line and then a falling out has been had with Gino - which I suspect may not have been the first time.

He’s a journalist. Think he cares?

Or as someone who actively wants a media career, he might have been asked by the owners to deliberately give an interview to debunk the rumours, I believe it’s called PR.

I'll be honest, it's all been a bit boring on the Watford FC front today.

No sackings (yet), no match to despair at and no relegation rivals having injury time goals ruled out by VAR. Not even an explosion in a paint factory kit to be hypnotised by.

If they can't entertain me 24/7 then I'll just have to take my obsession elsewhere. Come on Pozzo, don't make me walk away at a snails pace in the hope something happens and I come rushing back.

He's totally refuted it. He could have said I can't talk about all that....blah, blah. I think it's obvious the reason the coach went was because Gino and Pearson had a bust up.

Did anyone else go to the Muff away game? If you remember - right at the end of win, all the Watford fans were cheering with NP, Doucoure' and Gray. All three
of them were doing wind up fist pumps and the fans shouted "OLLAY". Such a brilliant memory of him. Actually the best we have played away from home for many
a season. Yes muff were turd that day, but we made them look turd.

Just a nice memory of his time here.

It’s on The Telegraph’s Audio Football Club Podcast. 24mins in. He’s pretty explicit and certain in making the claim.

We weren’t keeping him. And he didn’t want to stay. Apparently.

Yes, because no football club/business/politician/celebrity/human being would ever refute something that actually happened. People always tell the truth at all times, people give interviews at complete random times and are not timed or given to coincide with specific events, they’re never prepared for in advance, it’s always just the pure unadulterated truth.

No, I mean it completely contradicts what Pearson said last week. Which is why I question what the journo wrote.

That's why he said in an interview just before the West Ham game that he was hopeful he'd still be at the club next season.

.....or maybe you're hell bent on believing Twitter rumour over the club captain?

That's your prerogative, but I know who I believe.

Yes, and moments like that make me all the more sad we couldn't/wouldn't keep him.

He has a reputation for being a bully with a temper and maybe that has been apparent in recent weeks, but in the first few months he came across as tough but fair, well-spoken, a good man-manager and all-round top bloke. What's gone wrong of late? (It must be more than just losing GD)

I’m not believing anything, I’m just not ruling it out on the basis of the club captain giving an interview and deliberately bringing the allegations up to say they didn’t happen. There is a weight of evidence that something happened, someone denying they happened is not absolute proof that it didn’t.

Yes...something did happen. Gino and Pearson had a row, which destroyed their relation beyond repair. I'm not sure why that is so hard to believe, rather than all this sensational fist fights and lock ins.

Yes that's my point he did deny it happened which is most likely true, otherwise why expose himself to an interview and have to tell a bare faced lie.

To be fair, Pearson said ‘he had an agreement’. That agreement could have been that he would leave.

He did say ‘hopefully yes’ when asked if he would be staying - but again, I don’t think he would have said no even if he wasn’t staying. At that point, he would have just wanted positivity around the club...which obviously went out the window after 10 mins and n Friday.

But where has that been confirmed? Troy certainly didn’t confirm that did he? You’re making an assumption about what you think happened even though nobody has said that’s what happened.

Someone closer to the club than the ITK forum members and Twitter users who are making up stories.

We were there but missed the last goal as foolishly I parked in the car park by the
ground and didn't want to spend an eternity trying to get out !
But a great away day nonetheless !

Deeney and Leventhal are lying and Twitter/ITK forum members are the truth factory?

You can choose what you want to believe, I'm just trying to point out how ridiculous it is to believe in all this sensation.

Very often, there is nothing more sinister behind a story other than a simple fall out and difference of opinion, which I believe is the case here.

The official statement is nothing more than a churlish sideswipe because Gino didn't like Pearson's forthright/assertive tone.

  35. Deeney only said Pearson never laid hands on anyone, that doesn't exclude the possibility he chinned Masina. Until Deeney comes out and specifically denies that I think it's safe to assume that's probably what happened.

    BTW where's my PM?
