It would also bring into question if the spat actually took place at the ground or if it was something that occurred in a call after as Gino may not have been happy as stated with selection.
There may have just been a good talking to the players after the match as alluded by Pearson himself stating that players would be going home knowing they failed.
The article states they had tea with their counterparts and were relaxed after the game and as Deeney says players were very surprised on Sunday.
If there was a row between the two it may not actually have happened in public at all

I suspect a punch up is wide of the mark. More like the owners had an argument with Pearson around tactics, team selection etc. They are too involved, and don’t trust the manager. Pearson is a feisty character, and stood his ground. The owners are used to yes men, and are not used to people standing there ground. A dressing room bust is a red herring, but by his own admission Pearson said there were passengers during the W.Ham game, and that may have prompted the owners to ask more questions than normal.

That does sound good. However, the last Belgium Second division team to sack him are still a Belgium second division team.

As we now know it probably didn't happen, are we allowed to hear the "bad thing" he allegedly said? I'm just very intrigued.

It will be interesting to see team selection tomorrow night as it would point to whether Pearson was the one insisting on the same players week in and week out.
Also if the rumours are all nonsense where did they come from because they certainly did Gino no harm at all as most felt he was justified in the sacking.

Even Flores got a nice thank you message from Scott Duxbury who also said sacking Garcia would look "harsh "

Nothing of the sort for Pearson.

They didn't like the bloke and any potential incident on Friday made their minds up for them.

I don’t. If reports are “true” then we know Gino was not happy with Cleverley starting and Chalobah on the bench. He also wasn’t happy that he took off Doucoure for Chalobah when we were on the up, killed the momentum.

I think Gino wants to see more of Pedro and Quina also.

It’s going to be interesting, but I will be shocked if it’s the same starting 11 that faced West Ham.

  12. TBF Gino was right. Cleverley was awful at spam, and once Doucs went off we lost all momentum.

That's nice, must really have been a special memory for you to decide to paint it! Out of interest, what inspired you to go with an impressionist style?

Yeah, absolutely mate, not like all those spineless 'yes men' we've had before like Mazzarri and Jokanovic and Silva.

Just coz Deeney and such like said there was no scuffle or a bit of aggro don't mean it didn't happen.
They haven't convinced me to put it out of my mind as a possible cause of the sacking.

    Longer than Nigel...

In fairness I'm not defending anything either way, I just think it's an amusing and naive fantasy that Nigel is this truth-telling paladin who just can't help himself, like Balian of Ibelin, and that is what shocked the Pozzos to their very core so much that they instantly fired him having never received any challenge before.

Leventhal on Ornstein and Champman’s podcast today has said he’s subsequently learned from a couple of sources that there was a ‘significant disagreement’ with a couple of players at HT on Friday.

Deeney was clearly toeing the company line in that BeinSports interview. He himself said in the same interview that he does what he's told.

Might as well have winked at the camera.

Definitely appears to be some kind of PR cover up. The dismissal makes zero sense unless something seriously untoward went on behind the scenes, and the obviously terse announcement of Pearson's departure speaks volumes.

Perfectly set up for Lineker to sagely point out that WFC were heading for safety when they sacked Pearson, lost their last 2 games and are relegated. Ignoring the teams involved pointing out that "If only they'd retained Pearson, they'd have stayed up"

  29. wfcmoog

Well, he'd still be right to some extent. Sacking Pearson with these two games to come, in the position we are in made zero sense.

I don't buy the conspiracy theories either.

Pozzo sacked him because pozzo is a ****.

Can't see how he would get the staying up bonus. If there's been fisticuffs, that's Gross Misconduct, no payoff, no bonus.

Well now you got a Hammer in charge, its had an effect.

I understand Ngakia may well be on his way to you as well. Good player.

Hopefully we can do you a favour next week and beat Villa, whilst you beat Arsenal, as looks that will be needed....

By the way, been to Vicarage Road twice, since that hilarious thread, both super days out, W 1 L 1, even Haller scored 2.

We won’t be bouncing back, no chance. Selling all our best players to cover huge debt the club has.

We will be starting from scratch. Probably won’t be back in the Prem for at least another 3/4 years and that’s if we’re lucky.
