I feel sorry for Sarr - a 21 year old carrying a whole team of turd on his shoulders, luckily for him he wont need to next season
Pffft, slightly better second half, we got the goal as they played within themselves, but far too little too late. Whatever momentum we had was lost by some abysmal subs too. Doesn't even help the goal difference much, unlikely our goal difference will be better than Bournemouth's if it gets to it, **** it, it probably won't even be as good as Villa's. So, yeah, relying on an unreliable Arsenal next game up, Southampton (on good form, but nothing to play for), West Ham (nothing to play for) and Everton (nothing to play for and absolutely God-awful) to get something against Villa and Bournemouth, one win for either of them more than likely sends us down
Why does it take us 45 minutes to get going ? Is Pearson trying to keep things tight for the first half. If so it’s nearly impossible because I if the continuing errors in defence. I have to question Pearson as well. When Doucoure went off we lost momentum. Why not give Jao Pedro more than 6 minutes . We really had to go for it at that point I’m convinced Bournemouth will win at least one of their remaining games (probably Everton) so we will need a point. But I Can’t see it vs Man City it arsenal. I think we’d have to be really on it and need Capoue as well . So I believe we are going to be relegated . Very depressed tonight !
Haha, all these midweek comments apologising to Pearson and Deeney, saying Pearson should stay and that he's the right man to motivate us and that only Deeney could have scored two pens, all because we played mostly like **** against a team on the beach and scraped a win through two stupidly-given-away penalties. It's all looking great. Give him an 8-year deal I say. He deserves it. Or is it just us that deserves it. I didn't watch as I said I wouldn't, and it's still very ******* annoying.
Pearson, Pearson, Pearson he was a ******* hard as nails defender and he let that bunch of pussies do that

This is the thing, we saw at the start of the 2nd half how capable the players are of playing decent football and creating chances but they just choose not to and can't be bothered to show up. It's all in the mind.
I actually went out for a drive just before halftime to cool down, and when I came back we had pulled a goal back. Strangely enough I am relieved that we came out of that game with a better GD than I was expecting when we went 3 down, so I suppose that is one positive. All in all we are still in the driving seat over Muff and Villa as they have got to win at least one of their two remaining games, which is by no means a given. I still think if we can manage one clean sheet from our remaining games all be it against City and Arsenal, that point should be enough to keep us up, and better still if we can ACTUALLY score a goal in that same game..... WE WILL DEFINITELY STAY UP!!! COME ON YOU GOLDEN BOYS
I can understand the odd player brought in and sold from South America when they turn out right. Surely the best way to maximize that is by getting them to play for the parent club in the PL and boost their value. At this rate Estupinan may never be seen in a Watford shirt after being the first decent left back we have unearthed in a very long while. He'll be sold to line the owners and fatty's pockets and probably below his ceiling and to be fair to Pervis I cannot blame him for not wanting to boost his profile by playing elsewhere especially if we do end up in the Chumpionship.
Problem is we were expecting that having beaten Newcastle and gone six points clear neither of those two teams would win immediately afterwards. Leicester had a shocker along with fat ******* Moss.
Did you at least get pissed? Gardeners’ World was good. I think I know where I have been going wrong with my sweet peas, and Carol did a useful feature on hydrangeas. No discussion of nasturtiums, @Knight GT.
No one challenges him because no one bothers. Everyone wants to blame Troy but he's having to ask to come off cos he's crocked. It says it all. When a manager needs to rely on a man playing through pain there's something seriously wrong.
Exactly that. That post match interview was embarrassing. He'd have made more of a statement for refusing to talk to the press!!!
I gave up after the third goal. I’m surprised it finished 3-1 as to be honest it looked more like it would be 5 at least. The defending by Masina and Femenia was non league level. To start a game of that magnitude like that is unforgivable. Look at the way Bournemouth and Villa have played recently. They have fought tooth and nail for every ball and that’s all I wanted from us. If we’re then not good enough I can accept it but that was truly dreadful. I’ve never wanted to be relegated but if by some miracle we stay up I really fear for us next season. Ive not felt like this probably since being relegated by Leicester in the 90’s while both my parents were in hospital
One clean sheet? That's up there with a cure for COVID, world peace and Trump stringing together a coherent sentence.
Let’s just say my 4th “home measure” g&t on top of a couple of glasses of red with dinner is definitely numbing the pain of tonight’s result. PS Glad you spent your evening productively, too. I have two everlasting sweet peas that are bonkers and take over the flower bed every summer but I have no idea why they are so successful as I am a rubbish gardener.
My thoughts... - Where were we for the first 15 minutes? Why the social distancing? - Clinical finishing from West Ham this eve. We should have done better with all 3 goals, but they can both create and finish chances. They've shown why they deserve PL football and we don't - Absolutely spineless defending. I like Will Hughes and I think he'd do an excellent job for us regardless of which division we are in next season, but you can't give a player lurking outside the box that much space. Ben Foster - why didn't you attempt to save that shot? You could have got to it. You're another player I wouldn't mind seeing the back of this summer. - Lol'd when Gary Neville said 'Kiko Femenia is not a defender'. - I am actually appalled that Nigel Pearson, a professional and a head coach, would play Troy Deeney when he is not only dreadful when we're on the attack but most importaly INJURED. How can you justify giviing an injured player gametime? It's not right and it's not fair on the other players. The likes of Joao Pedro, Pussetto (why did we buy him again?) etc. must be shaking their heads every time Pearson reads out the starting XI. It is immoral and irresponsible to play a player who is a burden on this team and who is quite clearly injured and unable to keep up with the runs that Ismaila Sarr makes. Andre Gray, for all his faults, got into better positions than Deeney this evening. It actually wasn't his fault IMO that he didn't connect with Sarr's cross. - Unbelievably, despite our miserable and gutless performance this evening, I still believe we might stay up. Not that we deserve it mind you. We deserve to get relegated, no question. We are just so fortunate that there is some seriosu dross in the PL this season apart from us.
Difficult to pick the most depressing moment of a thoroughly miserable evening but for me it was the sight of Foster jogging back to his goal grinning like a half-wit when we'd just gone 2-0 down.
None of them are quality premier league players. Dawson has been the best of the bunch recently, but had some torrid games earlier in the season. But still, probably the best of them. But if you're playing four "ok when their head's screwed on" level defenders week in week out in the Premier League, you're likely going to be in trouble, no matter how good your midfield is (and I still think our midfield is a strong midtable midfield). In my eyes it's clear that over the season, our relegation fodder defence has hamstrung us time and time again. Especially early in the season when we were sacrificing so much attacking play just to try to solidify the back four. Relegation standard defence, relegation standard centre forward at least in chunks of the season (I'll admit Deeney had a very good spell in the early Pearson days). Gonna have to get lucky to overcome those handicaps over a season.
I don't think so. I was thinking more of the immediate future. One in which I foolishly envisaged us having achieved safety tonight and hoping to see Pervis line up in the new Kelme kit for next season as we finally say goodbye to Holebas. The likelihood more so if we do go down is we'll never see him in the flesh but watch him succeeding at another team far bigger than us. And we will have undersold him no doubt. Depressing.
