This is true....maybe just a bit of wishful thinking on my part, but if they do want rid of Giraldi, Walsh would be an excellent appointment.

Like the Ostrich guy said, the real working element of the trio is Pearson and Shakespeare. You need Shakespeare on board if this is to work.

Walsh was also absolutely awful with his buys at Everton. Great scout, terrible DoF.

Good on you for being such an ace fan. I’m not having one of these stupid conflicts about who is a better fan because of the way they choose to support the team.

I pay enough money to the club each season that it’s my right to believe that taking such decisions isn’t respecting the money that I personally put in as a fan. Doesn’t mean I’m not a fan or any less of a fan.

I think appointing Nigel Pearson would be a disaster that would end badly. The fact we are in a mess now isn’t an excuse to make another poor choice. But it’s just my opinion.

 

Pearson would be an ok choice by my book, actually anyone would be ok by my book. He has experience of pulling Leicester out of the basement position we find ourselves so who knows? His record since Leicester doesn't exactly thrill me but desperate times.

That's the only thing that concerns me about him, as I imagine he'd be working with a weaker squad at us, and although funnily enough we are only two points worse off than you were at the same stage in 2014/15, if we picked up the same number of points in the remaining games as you did (31 in 22) we'd end up with 39, which this season might not be enough with the way the weaker teams are picking up unexpected points against the top ones.

On the other hand, if the worst came to the worst, his championship record is mightily impressive - only a handful of teams have matched or exceeded the points Leicester finished with in 2013/14.

 

In the last 16 hours of Premiership football at home we've seen 5 goals from open play. 5 farkin' goals.

I thought it was common knowledge around Leicester, Esteban Cambiasso masterminded The Foxes great escape in 2015. He allegedly told Pearson to change the formation of the team and took training sessions during their incredible run in. Pearson went with the flow and took the glory

 

I don't mind Pearson getting it. If the players know he is going to get angry if they are playing **** they may pull their fingers out on the pitch instead of underperforming like they have been and we may pick up some points along the way. Relegation still likely however whoever we get.

 

It was not going because who the new manager might be that I was talking about. I sort of understand the not going because we are rubbish part but not going because you don't like the manager just seems strange to me but hey ho, It's only my opinion

As per @_pauljoyce, Watford want Nigel Pearson. Could happen today. Was at Leicester this morning and yet again a player said it was Nige who built the culture that still fuels their success. Given his ability to motivate and unify players/staff, could be just what Watford need

 

If we replaced Giraldi with Walsh, it would probably be the greatest upgrade we have ever made in a single position, in the history of our club.

 

Pearson is a fine choice. Better than the other names mentioned (apart from the actual world class managers who wouldn't touch us with a barge pole).

We are definitely lacking in the defence and finishing department, but our main weakness is our complete lack of b*lls.

In that respect and given we're going to need a total clearout if we get relegated, I'd argue he's the man to rebuild us (if he can keep his emotions in check).

 

Pearson was rubbish when he managed Derby according to one of my Derby County supporting mates

He was on his own at Derby and OH Leuven, so it makes a big difference. If he is our guy, and it looks as though he is, then he must bring in Shakespeare also. That's the winning formula. Without that I'd have my doubts.

So we are excusing him being sacked whilst bottom of the Belgian second division THIS SEASON because he did well 5 years ago with Leicester and that was due mainly to those around him anyway?
