The bores around me were booing both. And if it happens again I'll up-sticks again too. And all those in my vicinity will know why.
Being subbed on? That’s a booing. Being subbed off? That’s a booing. Deciding to make the sub? That’s a booing. Not sure whether to take part in booing? That’s a booing.
They are younger, quicker, with lots of confidence. Anything would have been a bonus. Somehow we need a win. Frankly I'd rather have the penalty in a game that it influences, next Friday or at Spurs. Still, beggars can't... Who or whatever you were booing,Kiko,QSF or Uncle Tom Cobbly, please don't. Seems an injury a game at present. The year has turned, let's hope our season can,but it looks a forlorn hope.
Yep. Feel like probably 7-8 of them didn’t even try today. Finding it very difficult to keep coming up with excuses for them. It matters to us but not them.
That game felt very much like the olden days when we were in the championship and used to play the big sides. Thought, sadly it looked like a championship team vs a PL team for 80 minutes.
I thought QSF got most of the decisions correct. He pretty much played the best 11 he got have put out. It’s not his fault that Gray isn’t good enough, but we need to start with a striker. I’m glad he didn’t put Success on, he is worse than Gray. Chelsea are one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the Prem at the moment, so no surprise we lost. I hope Sarr is back for Norwich, if he is then he needs to be thrown in, as I think he will offer more than Gray.
How on earth did we used to win games? Seriously. It seems utterly impossible for these players to win a game now. How on earth were we 7th?
The theory on 3CR tonight was that Janmaat had been booked and QSF wanted to make sure he was available to play at Norwich.
Crux of our attacking issue for me today is we weren’t anywhere near quick enough in the transitions. Long ball played up to Grey to hold up which isn’t his game, with Zouma clambering all over him 1st half. The length of time it took for Pereyra and Geri to come and support was anywhere between 6 and 10 seconds, which may not sound like a lot, but is forever in that situation. By this point Chelsea had won it back. Now I’m not saying we’d have won or drawn, but may have fashioned the odd counter or two which seemed to possibly be the plan(????). But for the two of them not to make the most of those potential 2 v 2/2 v 3 situations is criminal. I get that QSF wants defence and attack 30m apart, but that was appalling today. I like to think I’m as optimistic as they come without being blinded to negatives, but even I’m really struggling this evening.
Just a word on Chelsea who I thought were very impressive tonight with quick accurate passing. They were by far the best team we have played at home so far and way, way better than Arsenal.
Could have taken him off for a more attacking player still, even if you do swallow that ******** logic
And then at the end of it, Foster goes over to Dahlberg and asks to exchange shirts because he is a true inspiration and is in awe of his presence
Dawson could’ve been a right back for 20 mins as we switched to a back four and tried to claw one back. If he really said that, it’s insulting our intelligence and just another reason why that boring negative **** needs to be sacked ASAP if we want to stay up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I refereed a game once and coached some kids so I think I’m very qualified to comment. We can knock the ball around in triangles quite well. We are quite good at huffing and puffing. We may blow a straw house down in this league once in a while but without serious changes in strategy/ attacking players we won’t score many or win many. I feel for Gray. Just isolated up front and as we all know he’s not a target man who can work any magic without support. But his (one) shot was a bit unlucky - trying to nutmeg the defender but shot a bit too high and not as bad as people make out. Why Success was on the bench is a mystery if QSF won’t use him chasing the game with nothing to lose. Inexplicable. Pressure is on but the good news is QSF says we are trying to create positive energy, so there is obviously hope and all will be well.
Yep. Have to wonder in what circumstance he would ever have come on. I know we have injury problems but if he won't be used regardless of what's happening on the pitch then why not put someone there that's fit from the u23s? Also, three full backs on the bench? Really?
Nate was holding his right calf several times in the first half (it was his left knee that was the injured one). He was bent down doing the same and limping as Chelsea broke past him for their second goal in the second half. He just strolled back. Does he have a new niggle, another victim of our woeful squad fitness and conditioning, or has his damaged knee simply done for him? He just looks like he has lost all his explosive power and is playing in pain. I think he's done, finished, and won't admit to himself he's not top level anymore. You are quite correct, he just strolled about marking space, doing little to try to impose himself on the game or opponents. You don't need any FA Coaching badges to see it. Doucoure needed support. We are just surrendering midfield as we don't hunt in packs anymore without Capoue (hugely missed) and Cleverley. Hughes looked way off the pace when he came on and just as unfit or demoralised. He has done for ages. Last season he gave the ball away too often (first half at Burnley away come to mind) but retrieved it through effort or sweet strikes. He now looks bang below average. I cannot remember an opposition team that doesn't look stronger, fitter and faster than Watford. I'm also saddened that the "I'm a better fan than you" brigade are in full effect (wot no coaching badges, didn't go to Austria pre season, not mates with any past Fans Of The Year etc etc?) The team seem so joyless and without hope or conviction. The best we've currently got is way weaker than the side that faced Woking.
They do seem to be particularly impressive away from home . We helped them though even with the late penalty to give us a chance .
Hold on now. Flores is the qualified professional here. If there was a superior choice to three full backs on the bench he would have selected it. Your non badge blundering observations have absolutely no place here.
Agree with everything. The Will Hughes situation is very odd. We take a Championship England U21 starlet. Gradually blood him in the Prem, and 24 months after he looked great, he looks absolutely shot. What is our coaching doing? Is there a single player we have actually improved behind the scenes? Doucoure has declined over the last 18 months as well. Ditto Peryra. Ditto Gray/Femenia. Ditto Success and Peneranda since they joined. Players regress in our ownership who should have scope for rapid improvement. This club is rancid behind the scenes.
Just seen the highlights. Foster stopped us taking a beating from the look of it. For their second, we had 5 defenders *not* marking 1 attacker in the box. Might as well play 4 at the back at that rate.
So looking at MOTD. If Doucoure doesn’t turn his back Jorginho’s pass doesn’t get through and we don’t concede within five minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
..but they did have a crappy centre back partnership that we should have had a go at. Think Isaac May have given them some work to do. Zuma really is very poor
