Their 3-5-2/5-3-2 seems to have completely stumped Javi. It was obvious we needed to switch systems to match them up after about 20 minutes or so. But instead we've stubbornly stuck with our narrow tactic and been deprived of the ball and marked out of the game.

Deeney has been a complete passenger today, he needs binning along with Success. Doucoure and hughes the only two who look like they can be half arsed.

The part of the new rule that applies is that intentional or not it is handball if "the ball touches a player’s hand/arm which has made their body unnaturally bigger"

This is SO subjective it will cause all kinds of problems .

Embarrassing. We’ve been completely outclassed by Brighton. It was frustrating enough watching that kind of performance against City or Liverpool but this takes the p*ss.

That defence is still rancid. Kiko’s challenges are about as forceful as a mouse’s sneeze. Dawson’s fit in with the squad well. Looked on par with all our other crap centre backs.

Deeney should be nowhere near a Premier League starting 11. Get Welbeck in even with half his hip knackered.

What a waste of money. Football can p*ss off again.

Will this be the first time we have been bottom 3 since we came up ?

I agree. Bringing Mariappa on and matching their formation we would hope our players would bully them a bit more.
    All about manager awareness.

Which was the way it was explained to me many times in yoof football over the years. Of course it's subjective. Always has been.

It was pretty obvious in the first half hour we had no plan except hoof to Deeney and hope something happened from a 2nd ball; meanwhile Capoue and Doucs were completely over run in midfield by their formation.

It was screaming out for a formation change, Gracia's answer was 3 like for like player changes. The gurning fool needs to create a plan B, or we need to find a new head coach.

Thankfully we've got a team full of fighters with big hearts who are passionately devoted to WFC so they'll easily bounce back from this defeat.

In all honesty. If we end up in a relegation scrap, we're ****ed.

(I know it's extremely early to talk about such things)

Given Welbeck's fitness issues he might need to do it walking.

Disgusting, shameful performance. Absolutely played off the park and embarrassed at home to Brighton.

So glad we "improved" our terrible defence with Dawson who, on the back of a crap season a league below, actually managed to look like a step down from Mariappa today.

We better hope Sarr and Welbeck come in and make a huge difference, because our defence isn't even funny any more and the likes of Hughes, Deeney and Gray may as well not exist when they're starting games.

Here's your post-match thread word bingo:-

All the bedwetters are out in force
    At least Z-Cars is back
    Deeney is fat
    Hughes is ****
Sarr not even on the bench
    Success didn't even try
    Judge us after 5 games
    At least Luton lost
    At least Bournemouth drew
Not bottom of the league tho!
    VAR cost us the game
Pawson hates us so it's no surprise
A big club gets that penalty

    Good luck!

Woeful. Deeney is past it, should be an impact sub now. I dont think any of our players came out of that with any credit.

I try my best to not let my mood be dictated too much by results but I am ******* seething at that disgraceful performance. Disgusting.

So for my own sanity I'm off for the rest of the weekend.

    God help us all.

That was dire. Nobody played well. Tactics were ****. No width. Hoofing it up to Troy and Andre making it so easy for Dunk and co to defend.

Brighton were good though. Credit to them.

    Not going to panic yet.

Gray relies on service. He was making runs down channels but not getting the passes all day long. Deeney not able to feed him but I'm sure he will at KFC later.

Regardless of the overall rancid performance, I still think we'd have got something from that game if Gray had buried that second half chance at 0-1. It was begging to be passed high into the net. So naturally he goes low.
