Enough is enough. Time to call the Belgian super-agent who found us Oulare and Sven Kums, and tell him to find us another scorching hot prospect by the end of the week.
Preferably one who actually plays for us and doesn’t just line Gino’s pockets in 12 months this time....
It really doesn't work like that. We wait until the last 48 hrs and he tells us who he has left. They have usually been courted by manure but the €30m deal has fallen through at the last minute and they are available in the 48hr sale at a knock-down €4m.
So when are people’s prediction as to when Sarr is announced that he’s Watford player? I’m going to be greedy and take a 24 hour slot from Monday 5th August 2019 at 3pm to Tuesday 6th August 2019 3pm.
In all honesty, I really can see the deal collapsing. There just seems something off about the whole thing. It’s taking so long to agree on a deal with his club and personally (and it’s just my opinion) but if all parties were keen to get it done, I would have thought he could have made the deal happen and then gone on holiday. I hope I’m wrong. But over the past week, I’ve just had a sense we may not actually get anyone else in. It’s very very quiet for rumours etc. I’m still hoping for a few days where we get Mangala, Sarr and Rodrigo de Paul in and shock every WFC fan. But I’ve settled it in my mind that it’s gonna be Dawson and that’s it and we sell Lukebakio on the cheap and keep Okaka and Prodl.
Liverpool Echo saying Everton unlikely to follow up failed bid for Zaha as they can’t afford what Palace want... Can almost see the inevitable happening.
Today is the day that it becomes official, our bid has been accepted. He’s agreed terms, just the medical left. That’s my prediction anyway.
Good to get this detailed confirmation that it's moving forward. Will be confirmed in the next week if it's happening. Has he been seen at Watford Junction yet ?
Gueye went through today and he was in the same Senegal side as Sarr. This holiday thing is just an excuse for us to wait so long negotiating over peanuts that we get gazumped.
I'm not sure how dragging this out helps our position. Surely the nearer we get to the transfer deadline, the stronger the hand of the selling club becomes?
Let’s be honest though, if PSG were looking to sign me, I’d fly back from the Seychelles to get that done. It’s unlikely I’d come back from a wet weekend in Bridlington for Watford.
But it wont become official until after a medical. Of course the fee and personal terms can all be agreed in advance, but the physical stuff like passing a medical and signing the contract has to be done in person. It won't be an official signing until then.
Depends on your definition of ‘official’ I guess. But yes, your right. But it’s not unheard of for clubs to announce they have ‘reached agreement for the transfer’ of a player pending agreeing terms and medical etc. To some that would be seen as ‘official’ as the club are acknowledging the transfer. That’s all I meant.
Been thinking this all summer. Its gettign boring. Hoping there will be a late flurry, which usually means we sign a load of dross.
Signing confirmed at CP....cue meltdown. https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/2019/july/ismaila-sarr-joins-palace-on-three-year-deal/
