For £100 for 2 hours, I would expect a pretty top notch backside. That’s £50 per buttock. The chance of a gasser higher in the moshpit, I would guess.
I am glad you agree about the ticket prices. I was not looking to be confrontational. It should be enough just to be the underdog, on whom there is no pressure. Rennes beat PSG in the French Cup Final so it can be done. City fans know this to our cost as most of us have still not forgotten Wigan. The team is unlikely to get complacent. The fans certainly wont be. You obsess a little bit about our owner. He is Sheikh Mansour, not the UAE, and he didn't set the prices, the FA did. In fact City, or the players are paying for coach travel to the final. The point about the ticket prices is that they affect every football fan. I am sure Watford fans are very similar to City fans, doing similar jobs, and with similar budgets, and many will be thinking twice about paying £115 for tickets.
£115 for the same block and seat that cost me £30 for the semi final. I don't think l will bother to go.
Your current owner is Deputy PM of the UAE & his half brother is the President. He actually is pretty much Mr UAE. Many of the workers in that nation would certainly think twice about the £115 ticket price.
Yes. I know that many fans are unhappy at the price. It is simply too much for the average fan. It is an elite sport now. Annecy FC could be in the French National League next season, subject to promotion. At present: Match day ticket €3, Season ticket cost €30 (15 games) This is the equivalent of Division 1 (EFL). I can drink alcohol and eat decent food in the ground as well. Before Danone/Evian pull their money out, I use to watch Evian TG in the Ligue 1 play PSG. Lyon, Lille, Marseille, etc. To stand was €88, A seat was €112. Both were season tickets. Annecy FC was reformed due to the financial collapse of Evian TG. I have seen Watford play an FA Cup Final at the old Wembley, seen them play in each Division in the Football League, seen them play in Europe, home and away. I am not more of a fan than any new fan now. I don't own the club as some season ticket holders seem to think they do. £115 for a ticket a few rows from the roof of the stadium, plus travel, etc is a step too far in my opinion. Watford FC, the FA and Wembley Stadium Ltd will not care. It is all about the money. It is just the modern game. Enjoy the game, all that go to watch .
The only reason I asked is the seating plan the club put out shows no changes in categories over the two games. Having logged into the ticket site just now though you're right. The back of all the upper tier blocks is being sold as Cat 2 (£115). Yet the seating plan (and the one Man City have put out on their ticket site) show them at Cat 3 (£70). I know I've taken the piss out of you contacting the club before but I actually think this'd be worth your while. I wonder if it's another Ticketmaster mistake? The French National League might be the third tier but, having stood watching a few Ligue 2 games a decade ago in Strasbourg, I'd guess the quality is nearer Conference level. But yeah, you're not the only one to think this game is overpriced.
Evian charge £3 for a bottle of water mate. Don't think they are in any position to talk about ripping off punters.
It does seem that either the club have got it wrong, or ticketmaster have incorrectly priced up the tickets for the back half of the blocks across the side of the pitch - block 550 for example has seats 5 rows from the back as Category 2. I've contacted the club to see what's going on - I wonder if fans have been over paying or it's an error that's just happened the last few days?
I paid £45 for my tickets which are in the rooftops, but the row in front in the same block is in the next category which I think is £75. It's insane to think the person directly in front of me has paid almost double the price of my ticket.
got me ticket last Tuesday no hassle although had them select seat for me as pick your own was just not working got the highest possible seat at £45, shame the seat i was in last was now the family area as could of got the same seat pretty much not spending £145 on a ticket has allowed me to get west ham ticket and Chelsea away £101 all in for three matches, so money left over for a programme and still well under a thieving tier 1 seat would i pay £145? probably if that was all i could get but glad i did not
I agree. The standard is probably Conference football now. When Evian TG hosted the 'Big Guns ' of French football is was not Conference level. On the day price €8 - 12 to stand, €15 - 22 to sit. I have checked again this morning. No tickets less than £115
Hang on. Are you travelling from Annecy? So train to Lyon, flights, train from Gatwick / Luton, accommodation in UK, train back from Lyon (or eye-watering parking charges at St-Exupéry) must be what, £200+? In your case I would buy the best ticket I could to get best experience for what is already going to be a bloody expensive day. It may never come around again.
Of course the ticket price is too high. But my wife and daughters are going to see Hamilton tonight. £95 each. Last gig I went to was Tom Petty in Hyde Park. £140 each.
Just spoke to the Watford Ticket Office. £115 is the cheapest ticket available. They say they have no input over ticket pricing. That is down to the FA and Wembley Stadium Ltd. They will not say how many cheaper seats were originally available. More tickets will become available. No date or price known at this moment.
I saw Hamilton Accies play Partick Thistle a few years back in the Scottish Premier League. 50p would be overpriced considering the entertainment provided. La Clusaz looks lovely by the way!
Which Hamilton is GOBE on about? Is Diddy David Hamilton still alive? Lady Hamilton? Lewis Hamilton? He would want millions. If he were an ice cream he would lick himself. Hamilton in Canada?
What did they say about the seat plan being wrong? PS I reckon the extra seats will be Category 1 as there are two greyed out blocks on the lower tier. Also people would be a bit miffed if cheaper seats became available than the ones they had to buy last week. There again anything is possible !
All the usual never-goers were shitting it about not getting a ticket for themselves and they're Arsenal supporting relatives. Now we can't even give them away. Only Watford fans.
La Clusaz to Annecy €4 (local bus) or a free lift or drive/park. Annecy to Geneva €5 (flix coaches) La Clusaz to Geneva direct is €40 (1hr) Cheaper if not a tourist. Geneva to London Airports/ Southampton Free Accommodation at my Parents just outside Watford or my Brother's place in Islington. I never fly from Lyon.
