Soton are not in serious danger of relegation - they still have home games against AFCB and Huddersfield, which will give them the 3 or 4 points they need.
Masina was lowkey excellent again today. Isaac, for all his imperfections, at least made a positive impact for the goal. The result was never really in doubt at any point today, which I'll happily take considering the potential for a slip up. That's exactly what everyone else around us seems to be doing after all!
Everton pipping us for 7th has become a big thing for them. Ironic seeing as last month their fans didn't even see us as relevant.
Must have been an ace game to be at. Glorious sunshine, easy win, decent sounding atmosphere and cheap ale before and after. And here I am lying in my pit feeling like death ffs
I was watching on my iPad nice to see Sema actually put a shift in, he is not the greatest but doesn't give up and had a good hand in the second goal, also Massina has done well in the last couple of games!
Job done. In 12 months, if asked you won't remeber this game in any way shape or form. Maybe in a month. The temperature today meant neither side was going to go gung ho. Sema, workhorse wide midfielder, would get 40+ games a season at huddersfield. Im happy to have him over someone with better quality but the wrong attitute like Niang. Deulofeu is I agree better than the occasional wizard. He's nearly always looking the player to change the game, two good finishes again. So glad we are looking for achieving something this year rather than relying on probabilty of the likes of cardiff not to win 3 of their last 4 games while we watch the players idle around planning their holidays.
Nuno’s meltdown at Wembley could be season defining for them & for us. His whole approach is based on calmness & yet he was kicking those bottles around like a ne’er do well at a bus stop.
At this stage in their evolution Wolves only really have a plan A 352 counter attack. They don't look anything special when they have to chase a game or dominate play.
Deulofeu's first will go under the radar but it was really good technique I was a critic of him being in the middle instead of the wing but now he's added finishing to his game I'm happy to say I was wrong
Leicester’s last 3 games are against top 6 teams , I don’t think they ll be in running . Everton possibly , but they ll need at least a point against Manure tomoz. In all likelihood it’s us or Wolves , which makes that match the proverbial 6 pointer . Everton’s probably only chance if that game is a draw .
Holobas on twitter or instagram, I can't remember, seemed to suggest he would be back soon. Probably v Wolves. Pereyra was nursing a hip injury before and during the semi, I think he played injured. He is training so may play v Southampton if needed but otherwise he will be wrapped in cotton wool till the West Ham game and then the final.
Fair result. Hudders were awful and we should of been at least three up before they scored. Weather played a big factor today so kudos to Gracia and the lads for grinding it out. Nice stadium too. Thejr fans are a credit and seem quite faithful so I woukd not bet agaibst them coming back soon. Two well taken goals from Delafoo and Success was half arsed again despite some gokd movement for the second goal. Masima was excellent again, Gray was quiet overall but it was a game of low energy and a win is a win. Shame we conceeded though. Cant remember Foster having much to do bar a shot he palmed clear. They also came dangerously close just after half time due to a right mix up in defence. Southampton Tuesday will be tough. BtW shout out to our very own Emma Saunders who hosted 606 tonight. Got some Watford love from her so thank you Emma.
No she's our stadium announcer. Her first time on 606 tonight and R Savage giving it all the wise cracks.
Deulofeu is starting to look an amazing player. If he can maintain this consistency he looks world class. The technique for the first goal was sublime.
My best theee were Capoue, Femenia and would have added Mariappa but gave it to Deulofeu the goals. Great day out, pies for a £1 were excellent at the end of the game. Huddersfield are one of those clubs and support you wished were not going down. Not sure when we will play them again in a league match but wish them well.
Today's result was our second double in the PL this season (after Palace), two other posssibilities coming up in Wolves and West Ham!
Very tidy and composed finished by Deulofeu. Huddersfield manager was any but when Mariappa blocked a shot .
