Hahahhahahahaha Marco Silva has just blown a 2 goal lead against Newcastle!!! Losing 3-2. Whatever happens in our own game I'm happy tonight!
Energy in central midfield, pace out wide and upfront, key players rested for FA Cup. Makes sense Javi.
It all makes sense other than the decision to bring back Masina - having him up against Sterling is basically sacrificing the game before it has even begun. It's gonna be a car crash.
Not necessarily true. Femenia to join Janmaat on the right side to help with the doubling up from Sterling & Zinchenko. Douccoure & Capoue will be two of the best that Silva & Gundogan face this season. Masina vs Mahrez & the brilliant Bernardo Silva coming off the right hand side is defo the weak point for us. Especially as I can't see Success tracking back much. I'm going to take a guess that Cleverley as the third man in midfield will help Masina. I'm personally glad it's Mahrez not Sane. Then Gray's speed up top for a counter.. we could nick it. However, it's more likely their brilliance will show through, we'll lose 5-0 and nobody will really care.
Liverpool fans moaning about our team selection. Instead of bemoaning their own failures and the huge gap in spending between the top six barring Tottenham and the rest. How an earth do they expect us to reasonably compete ? These fans live in a bubble. I hope we pack the midfield deny space and hit on the counter and the longer we stick in there the more nervous the opposition become.
Cant really knock Javy for trying something different, I doubt we have any combination that would get a result at City 1 time in 20 games
Well played Javi. It’s a defensive lineup so might nick a draw but I doubt it. Much more important game next week, would have liked Doucoure or Capoue to have a rest but they still have a week to recover. Any less than 3-0 is a positive for me. COYH!
A happy dressing room is obviously important to Javi too. There aren't many in our squad who could claim they haven't been given the chances to impress this season, and I think that's part of the reason why we are where we are in both league and cup.
Guess the game is over already. Cheers ref. Only way they were going to break the deadlock was a bung from an Arab.
Getting a tricky decision wrong in the heat of the moment? Understandable. Getting an easy decision right initially only to overturn it? There are no words.
The only thing unacceptable about today is the standard of officiating, and the only thing embarrassing is your post.
Could've got a draw if we kept at it like the first half. Not too concerned, we played well enough to keep the gd down, with 7 changes and got a goal. Not too shabby Bloke who posted above being embarrassed, do you really support Watford? Sort yerself out you tart
Intelligent set up by Javi & creditable display. The whole squad will be busting a gut in training this week.
When leicester won the league, spurs played chelsea had a ruck rather than a football match. Spurs should have had around 3 red cards. The ref didnt give a red because he was conscious of making a decision that might have cost Spurs the title. As it was, Spurs did a spurs and bottled it. Ladies and gents, what we saw today was a ref afraid to give a decision against Man City that could have cost them. ******.
What? We were totally in the game all of the first half. I am the most pessimistic here and I was really happy with the first half, apart from Aguero's header they weren't creating THAT much and certainly not peppering us like they have better teams. 45 seconds in and a refereeing decision ruined the game. It's hard enough to motivate yourself to play when you see such little of the ball but to then to have all your hard work undone so quickly and unjustly, naturally, the press, the effort, the positioning and the focus required to keep a team like City out drops by a little 5% and you could see that for their second goal. Before their first I was actually positive about the second half thinking we could nick a draw here and then after GD scored we still gave them a lot to worry about. Javi got it spot on, no injuries to regular starters, should have everyone for the Palace game given us the best possible shot at getting into an FA Cup semi final AND made it a touch harder for Liverpool to win the league They'll put a lot more past far better teams this season and without the aid of the ref. Good effort & application, unlucky, we go again. COYH!
I hate when after a game you hear "but despite that decision they played magical stuff" or whatever. That is not a goal in a million years and we were holding 0-0 comfortably. If you're not 100% sure, you can't give a goal without VAR. That's a decision based on entirely on it being Manchester City.
City are a class above us, we weren't humiliated, lost by two goals no thanks to the ref, we move on to next Saturday!
You either have to accept that the bigger, richer clubs will get the dodgy decisions or give out like ****. I am in the 2nd category at the moment.
Good effort and a well organised performance. Rotation players did well. Disgraceful officiating. Amazing decision really. Tierney was one of my favourite refs but that was rank incompetence.
