Why are we taking short corners and putting our free kicks to the area where we have no players. Everyone wasted so far.
Was about to post the same. Who in their right mind would even contemplate taking a short corner against Everton? Utter madness. Also Delefelou has been laughably bad.
Ha Hahaha Haha haha ha What a shame. The game against silva makes us safe... Unlike old slippery chops
By no means did we play well, but we wanted it more and pressed harder. The defence was generally untroubled. Everton looked pretty woeful, completely clueless up front.
In this moment Silva, you are a little s hite Thanks for the points you big watch wearing unbearable **** of a fraud Please go for the luton job next
Ok everyone over to here and enjoy... https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/marco-silva.104365/page-1402
Did Zouma get sent off right after the whistle? Talksport seemed to think he showed a red Also HAHAHAHAHA eat a bag of ****s Silva
Another truly dreadful spectacle. The same issues of not playing two upfront. The lack of control in midfield. The use of the aimless long ball. The poor discipline (another needless yellow and two game suspension from our best player today with Cathcart)and set pieces. And even the barracking of the snake was mild to say the least. Gracia needs to look at his tactics, his lack of flexibility and his player selection. Either play Deulofeu out wide on the right or have the guts to drop him and play an extra midfielder to link up the attack with defence. Once again far too many balls back to front were gifts to Everton. Doucoures presence helped pick up more secondary possession but there should be no crowing about the result or style of play. Everton are laughably bad yet we hardly created anything against them and scraped a win. It's not good enough. More of this and we will be finishing at the back end of midtable. It's a far cry from the fluidity, speed of play and decision making seen against Cardiff and Wolverhampton and in the early part of the season. Sort it out Javi. Football is not a complex game.
Hurrah. Doucoure being back was definitely a help, as was Javi making the correct substitutions without dallying too long. Hopefully this now sees the end of the Sema starting experiment. Also, Mariappa has now had 3 clean sheets and only 2 total goals conceded from his last 4 starts, and those 2 goals were away at Spurs. In total that's now 4 clean sheets from our last 5 if you also count Newcastle in the cup. Considering how most of us agree we could do with an upgrade at CB, that's not bad going. I prefer Janmaat at RB to Kiko as well. Being more clinical in front of goal is still clearly where we lack something, and unfortunately Deulofeu was powder puff again with his final balls (both in shooting and crossing). Gray is still the closest thing we have to a "fox" and has easily the best goals per minutes record out of any of our strikers. Gets too much stick on here given how much he contributes relative to our other forwards (especially as it's not really his fault he's pretty limited, he certainly works hard). Will one of Holebas' 2 suspended games be the FA Cup? In which case, he picked a pretty good time and minute to get that 10th yellow. The ref was giving them everything, but thankfully we dealt pretty well with all their set pieces. How can Everton have spent so much money and still have someone as poor as Tom Davies play 90 minutes for them? Strange. Also, the sooner Pickford gets dropped from England's number 1 spot the better. Everton won't go down, but they look far from a top 6 side. I reckon Moshiri will stick with Silva for another summer to try and preserve face and hope they somehow turn it around, but they won't spend as much again this summer as they did in the last one, and Sssnake will find himself out of a job by next Christmas again, when he has them stuck in 12th. Us lot proceed once more!
He did. And switched on enough to pick up a pointless booking to ensure half of his inevitable 2 game ban for 10 yellows is served in an FA Cup game he'd be rested for anyway.
We need to play to our potential and we are under achieving and the last three games this one included sets a worrying trend. The one thing I will give the coaching staff credit for is the way the defence has been tightened up. Cathcart has been imperious and that offside trap is working like clockwork.
2nd half was so much better. We won despite the referee giving a foul for being near them. Mariappa or Holebas MotM for me. Cathcart passing was very good.
He'll probably get dropped next game lol. Usually happens after he scores in his Watford career so far.
Get in there lads!!! Really good 2nd half, maybe more in terms of energy than quality (even Del was winning headers) but the main thing was getting the win. It was telling that Gracia's half time sub changed the game, yet Silva's had little effect. No substitute for a good coach.
Not sure, but... Den Browden @BrowdenDen Kurt Zouma sent off in the tunnel after the match. Ugly scenes here on a terrible day for Everton. I’m hearing he attacked Lee Probert, pulled the referee’s hair. No place for that in the sport. #WatfordFC #EFC #WATEVE
Good win. A bit lucky to hold on with their poor finishing at the end. Some really good performances in there though. Mariappa, Cathcart, Janmaat all excellent, especially Mariappa (who is my favourite boo boy). Gray did well and hope he starts next time with Delefeou our wide (who was poor today). Doucoure makes a big difference and Hughes at his best for a while. Sema completely ineffectual and hooked at half time, although I thought Deeney and Delefeou had weaker first halves. Overall a battling performance and great to win this one.

Phew - we played well second half despite ref having blue tinted glasses. This is amazingly our 2nd best number of points in the top flight after 26 games ... 2 of them are just one point less though so we need to keep it up. So happy to beat Silva! I'm not a man to hold a grudge, but that was sweet!
