As a minor digression, is this a record? I’ve just left a restaurant where they played 10 Elton tracks in a row. After a couple of Lion King ones, they were a random selection. No rockers but Song for Guy, Your Song, Tiny Dancer. The owner said he liked Elton. When I pointed out that my son was wearing a WFC training top & suggested, joshingly, that we should get a discount, he looked nonplussed. Restaurant was the St Andrews Hotel in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka.
Never been before, what's the easiest way to get to the ground from the town centre and roughly how long does it take? Getting the train from St Pancras.
Is this actually going to be on because the snow is pouring down again and is also now snowing in Brighton as well
I'm in Worthing and it's not snowing here.. Been raining all evening actually. Definitely on I would think.
I fancied our chances against an injury hit Spuds more than this match. We will need to start well to give ourselves a chance. Murray has his eye in the moment and our CBs usually struggle against him. Another draw would not be too shabby.
I think it will be a draw. Deolefeu and Success both with hat-tricks for our goals. Still second last on motd.
A general question. The 'Gerard Deulofeuuuuuuu, (short, awkward gap) he's magic, (short, awkward gap) you knowwwwwww.' Why? Not that he shouldn't have a chant, but this one is an absolute dirge. Dreary isn't the word! I know he's got an odd surname for chanting purposes, but come on, I'm sure our chant-meisters could come up with something better than this. Must try harder. Challenge: You have until 3pm today to compose a light, jaunty tune that is easy to sing.
Deulofeu oooh Always been in your soul You’ve got the power to know You’re indestructible Always believe in Deulofeu Oooh The oooh needs to sound a bit camp, but that’s ok as it’s 2019 and we’re all secure in our sexuality, right?
Brighton away without Doucoure last season was 1-0 and I expect the same today. We need a win though or 7th ain't happening.
I like it, resurrecting the Ighalo chant but maybe start with 'Gerard, ooh' to fit the syllable count. Gerard is a bit of a camp name (ref. the name of Larry Grayson's 'friend' he often referred to in his TV shows in the 70s) so that would also suit.
Lovely sunny morning down here in case anyone is wondering. I don't know what it's like back home see.
Talking of which, this bizarre leaflet came through my door this morning: A strange mix of pub news and little Englander table thumping.
I've had it too. Apparently everything that's gone wrong is the fault of over-educated Oxbridge graduates. I feel terrible now I know that.
