Karen Brady back from the apprentice final and no doubt hyped her club to win five on the spin. Think we last did that under Joka but it may of been GT in the 00/01 season. Have to check. I’d play Capoue for sure. Keep Quina and Delafoo. We ain’t going to score up top so all our flair has to come from midfield. They are looking at this as very winnable so we need to have an Everton away game to get sonething here. Start with Deeney as his physical presence could open an opportunity for a Holebas goal from 46 yards out. We were awful here last season and never travel away well to the Spam. Gracia has a headache of midfield to decide on, which of course changes his formation choice. If we’re drawing towards the end could be another cameo for Okaka to raise his profile a bit? Keep Deeney on the pitch as he’s good at defensive duties. Hard to predict as we are so unpredictable at the moment. I’d definitely take a point, and so would they. 1-1
Don't think they are looking at this as 'very winnable' at all. They are, for the most part, pretty knowledgeable about us on their forum and 2-2 or 3-2 either way seems to be the consensus of opinion. Both teams in a bit of form, both looking up rather than down, it has the makings of being a cracking game.
Four successive wins sounds impressive, but the average league position of these opponents is currently 16th. I think if they had played our last 4 opponents (current average position 9th) I doubt they would have picked up many more points than we have.
They do sound pretty grounded and knowledgeable from reading their match thread. Some of their comments make me think they watch us regularly! "Watford's midfield is the reason they win games. Perfect mix of athleticism and technical ability. They retain possession well, create plenty of chances and win the ball back quickly when they do lose it. Will Hughes, Capoue and Cleverley all been out last few games but they haven't missed them at all. Their defence isn't strong at all though, get past that midfield, get at the defence and we can score a few. Likewise up top, Deeney will provide a physical battle but we should be able to cope. Deulofeu is a tricky player but will sulk if we cut out his service. Haven't got a clue how this one will go, 2-2 perhaps?"
If we had not conceded the two late goals against Cardiff, our league records would be identical in terms of P/W/D/L/GD. This game will be a great indicator - avoid defeat here and perhaps we can avoid the poor mid/late season form that has become such a feature of our PL experience.
Liked the vibe on their forum from a quick glimpse. Similar to us but less grammar stuff & more ‘mate’.
Of course, the most erudite of comments "Watford are the modern day equivalent of Wimbledon" somewhat lowered the bar.
Don't get me wrong, having met a couple of their Neanderthal fans after a game outside Upton park a few years back, I think their forum members are in the minority intelligence-wise.
Lol true. We have enough wind up merchants on this site that I take things like that with a pinch of salt.
Getting these in early: The ref got that wrong. Why always against us? Troy was at fault. Kiko was at fault. Kabasele needlessly did that. Doucoure is a shadow of last season. Holebas can't take free kicks. We need a new centre back. We need a new goalscoring striker.
I’m going for 2-2 in this one. For some reason I fancy our chances on Boxing Day against Chelsie - maybe I’m hoping to relive our last home meeting with them.
Anderson looks a very good player, were we linked with him? Obviously we’d never have bought him for what they did though.
Really hard to call. Wet Spam should just edge it being at home but if either side is just 5% off in performance they lose. Am expecting goals.
I had no issues last year and don't remember any. Not going this time as I'm sick of the overpricing to line the pockets of the porn boys.
Which is how many fractions of a percent that the tax payer pays for the stadium (and policing/security)?
Give us your details including pin, Mothers maiden name etc and I will see if I can find your missing cash!
