Sets the tone - Lawro name checks us ONCE in his prediction about us. Just to say Arsenal will beat us (which is fair enough) Merson pretty much the same although he does credit us with doing well.. Even Cardiff v Burnley get a couple of lines each.
Need to watch out for the pace of Walcott. He always does well against us and seems to enjoy scoring against his parent club. I think he’ll pop one in the onion bag if he’s not injured. Kabesele is due a goal for us and it would be nice for Deeney to show his cajones to the crowd by rolling one over. Arse ‘n all 1 Watford 1 or maybe 2
Been to the Emirates twice. Both times we'vewon 2-1. I'll be there tomorrow so put your houses on it being 2-1 to us again.
Looking forward to it, as I enjoy going to the Emirates. I'm not too confident about this match - I would be delighted with a draw ………..
Their front two aside, I don’t think there’s much between the teams. They have conceded in every match bar one, inc at home to the likes of Spam, Brentford & Poltava. Really hope Kabbs is back. Femenia’s pace could be important.
I'm having a week off RD. I despise the Arsenholers that much, I fear that if I were to do a preview about them, it might slip into negativity....
Kabasele's red is rescinded!! Great news. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/news-kabasele-appeal-upheld
Good news. I can accept when a referee makes a mistake because an incident unfolds too quickly for them or they just have a different opinion to me. But I struggle with ones like this where the cameras conclusively prove Mason guessed. He couldn't see the tackle yet gives a penalty (which you can argue it was or wasn't) and a red card (it wasn't). Big change to the game and, as HB1 said, he wouldn't have done it if roles were reversed and it was Alderweireld on Success.
Yep....and Lee Mason's punishment......is he demoted to the Championship?, suspended for a couple of games? Nope, he gets the Man City v Brighton match.
This is great news indeed. I was ready to make the call for Mapps to replace him but Wilmot seems to be progressing fast. Seems like an Eric Dier type of screening player however definitely with more charisma and hopefully more quality.
Yes...I agree it will be one-sided, regardless of how well Brighton play. Mason will make sure of that.
Can't help but think being named 'Eric' hinders you in the charisma stakes,Sykes apart. His dad was a decent tennis player who was quite outgoing, not sure what happened with junior.
Great news about Kabasele, that was the biggest disappointment about Weds night. If you've not seen it since it was a football ground and appreciate art-deco architecture, pop round the corner and have a look at Highbury if you have a bit of time to spare. Has been so much great old football architecture ripped down over the last twenty years or so, and it's great to see that the facades of the two 1930's stands have been preserved.
Nope....nothing to see here. Mistakes are made blah, blah, blah. Spurs are through to the next round and that's the main thing. Football is the winner.
7 broken toes, 2 ribs removed, 1 leg amputated but he's big and ugly so he'll be fine. Arsenal 1-4 Watford Wenger out
I don't think there's anything to be scared about with Arsenal. Aubameyang and Lacazette are almost exclusively box players and we've got a great record of limiting shots. Restrict them to long shots and bully their sluggish back line. Ramsey is currently in hot water over his contract so hopefully the crowd will get on his back if he makes any errors. Watford are the perfect anti-Arsenal weapon.
