A great result and three class goals. I'm glad Gray is finally making me eat my words. Long may it last.
Still conceding from set pieces though and Vokes should of scored with his first touch. But I'm being very picky here but it will be our undoing again this season.
Roll on Palace now. Its about time we royally spank those slags.

What was the Deeney incident after he scored?

A decent defensive performance against the hoofball side where they had two chances of note.

    **** me, I thought I moaned.

    No, the game was good.
My point was how many headers they won in our box.
A major flaw in our game last season. It is easy to see.

    Lovely stuff.

Burnley were even more Burnley-y than I thought. You can see how it's effective though, they really put us under pressure in the first half with constant balls into the box. Can anyone see Vydra being a success in that team? I certainly can't.

I think we're now seeing the very highly rated Gracia, rather than the one that had to pick up Silva's scraps from last year.

I expected us to win it.

I thought we looked pretty good against Brighton and thought if we could repeat it, we ought to be in with a good shout. I don't think Burnley are all that and the one player of theirs who I fear a little bit (Defour) was out injured.

I also thought Joe 'hairline' Hart might be good for throwing one or two into his own net too. He nearly did when he dropped that one at Deeney's feet, but unfortunately our man doesn't have lightening reactions.

Can't understand incidentally why some player ratings are giving Cathcart lowish scores. Thought he played an absolute blinder to match his outstanding performance in the first game of the season. I'd have said he was a contender for MOTM in both games.

No. It is just my opinion.
He may be a decent guy, trains hard and does good community work for WFC. As a Premier league player he is not at that level. Sure, there are many other teams with fringe players in their squad
That is all Mariappa will be. A fringe player or less.

That was one of Deeney's best performances in the last few years. And not in a "chuck him on against Arsenal as a battering ram" kind of way. Linked the play really well, even dribbled around a couple of players, closed down defenders, great touch and finish for the goal. Gray's touch and movement was very good today too, particularly the way he opened it up for Hughes' goal.

Cathcart was excellent, superb covering and happy to mix it with the three trolls they had upfront at various points during the game - just a shame he got out muscled for the goal. Capoue and Doucoure fantastic as well, showed their "midfield" cloggers up. That pass from Doucoure will take a lot of beating for assist of the season. Hughes really struggled in the first half but was a man possessed after half time. Really like the look of Sema, works very hard and wins a lot in the air.

I think our best player so far over the first two games has been... Holebas. Absolutely ramming the criticism down my throat, fair play Jose!

got to be more than happy with that. Not many teams are going to go up there and win so easily and not by 2 clear goals.

Our team performance in the second half was exceptional. I'm not sure what Gracia has done to Capoue, but since he arrived Capoue has become a consistent performer and what a difference it makes.

6 points on the board - 15% of the way to safety and 6% of the way to the title

Delighted with the win, the performance, the goals - but mostly to get one over that ginger whinger in the other dugout. Another one from the Ian Holloway mould - says funny stuff in press conferences and as a result gets a free pass from the media regarding his brand of football.

He's making premier league players play a league one style. Can't stand him - and the job he did here under 'difficult circumstances' pales in comparison to what Ray Lewington had to deal with. Not to mention having GT to turn to any point if he felt the need. Hughes should have been sent off? Just like Niang a while back, eh Sean? A bad losing, one trick pony that always has an excuse, and got found out today by the team on the pitch trying to play football.

I guess our win over Brighton also looks better now:). Whisper it quietly - maybe we aren't that bad, and are finally starting to see what this group of players are capable of! What a great Sunday.

I couldn't finish watching it. There's one thing to mention a possible red as a throwaway comment, but he just keeps digging, with a ridiculous premise.

That's a red card on no day of any week. Yellow, all day long, but never a red card. Nobody on earth outside of the ginger grumbler would have thought so.

The last comment on that thread is absolutely hilarious:

“I thought we'd have been in for WIll Hughes last year as well. Wages that Watford offer will have put us out of that market though”

So wrong on so many levels

Very pleased for Javi today. I felt a lot of away games last season we were very unlucky, having plenty of shots but just not putting our chances away.

First attempt at target away from home this season, and Gray somehow shins in a nearly impossible volley. Just like that 7 games away from home without a goal are gone in an instant.

Definitely up there with Stoke away in 15/16 as one of my favourite away performances, with Hughes scoring an almost identical goal to the one Abdi scored that day!

Handbags, he just celebrated like it meant everything to him. Some people afterwards were saying he was out of order but I didn't see that. After the game he was applauding the fans.

Yeah we really rode our luck that first half and the referee gave them everything that Dyche wanted, (arm waving on the sidelines works). They could easily have scored 3 that half, but then every time we went forward with numbers we looked bl**dy dangerous as well. Grays goal was a delight on the eyes and there were a few other cracking moves which I didn't see much of last season. Second half we just went for the jugular from the off with Hughes and Doucoure running the show, (I look at who we've got to come back in to the team and it really does make me smile). Deeney finished his chance beautifully and then when Hughes got a gifted pass soon after that I said to my lad that this would be number 3, (he was putting similar shots into the back of the net during the warm up), and that's exactly what he did. Cue some great scenes behind the goal. Even at 3-1 up you could feel a nervousness amongst the travelling support up until about 85 minutes then it was party time.

Femenia looked good when he came on and if someone can explain what Gomes was doing with the 4th officials numbers board after the game I'd love to know.

A great day out, despite the stupid o clock start. Burnley Cricket Club is a great place for pre match beers and the fan fest behind the stadium does great pies. What more could you ask for, even the stewards treated us like humans! I need to do a write up about getting a club coach for the first time in 36 years, but it was certainly an experience.

Please do so I have something to compare with (not from today). I wasn't too sure whether to believe the comments I've read on here for years by different people when we've used them the odd couple of times but they are certainly correct!

    Great win.

First half, we rode our luck.
Second half, that’s how you play football. Take note Burnley and Dyche.

I thought their players constantly cheated today and got away with it. The moment one of our players breathed on them, they went down like they had been shot. I know foreign players get a rough rep but those Brits at Burnley certainly give them a run for their money. Absolute pathetic antics from them. As for Lowton at the hand, I fully expect the FA to do their job and ban him for 3 games. Disgusting little player that got rinsed all second half and couldn’t hack it.

This really is an incredible win. To win away at Turf Moor, in the rain while being bombarded with 90mins of hoofball, amazing. Better teams than us will go there this season and lose. Huge win.
