You say that but he is a championship player and we are a prem club. Plus as GD pointed out, Warnock has seen him and didn't buy him. So there.
Vydra great in a partnership up top. Brilliant finisher. Play him on his own and he's a totally different player. Personally think that's the only mistake we've made sales wise.
Yes I'd agree with that though I would have kept FF as an option from the bench when chasing a game. The one area we didn't need to fiddle with when we were promoted was the strikers. TD, OI, MV, FF were a great set of options, all a little difference. Many of the other sales were good decisions, but only because we'd bought a few **** players and needed to dispose of them !!
48 hours doesn’t seem to be remotely enough time to sign the quality striker and center back we need. My suggestion is to lump on relegation
I think we've got a decent squad. There, I've said it. All of the players we were supposedly in for over the last couple of seasons, how many have turned out to be anything but massively disappointing for their new PL clubs? Gabbiadini, Gradel, Boufal, Lemina... All basically punts. Sound exotic, but how many make the step up from Rennes, Eibar, Empoli?
The squad is good enough to comfortably finish mid table, maybe better. I think people's concerns are heavily factoring in injuries, which is fair enough given our recent record, but how far do you take it when judging the squad?
As things stand, an injury to one of our two centre-backs, or Gray, and we suddenly have a team easily capable of losing to anyone in the division.
My concerns are heavily factored on the fact the defence has been poor for the last 2 years and has been bailed out by the rest of the team. We haven’t made the necessary adjustments to negate that this summer (not yet anyway) IMO.
A decent squad isn’t good enough to stay in the primula league. Nor is a good squad. There, I’ve said it.
This window is just out to spite us now - making loads of attacking midfielders available at good prices knowing full well Gino can’t say no.
We’ve looked better when we managed to play the same two centre backs for a few games running. If we can do this I think the defence will improve. On a side note, get off the forum and get on with your honeymoon. There are far better things you should be doing than posting on here
My honeymoon is on Friday. My prediction that I would be off here for over 2 weeks was because I thought married life would already be swallowing me up in despair already between the service and the honeymoon! Alas, she is at the supermarket and I am watching swimming on Eurosport. Wedded bliss is suspended for a few days it seems...
Fulham supposedly close to completing the £25mil signing of defensive midfielder Anguissa from Marseille, who I seem to recall we've also been linked with this summer: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/08/0...ambo-anguissa-flies-to-london-for-talks-with/ I know people have been taking some solace in the fact that, despite our underwhelming defence and attack that we have a strong midfield, but it appears that most other PL sides have rally strengthened their midfields this summer as well.
That's what I thought. Not a sexy signing so will be shot down in flames but it is a necessary one, be it Livermore or someone similar.
We aren't signing anyone else. We have been told it will be a quiet summer. Nothing to see here. Move along
It was gearing up to be an exciting final day. Livermore isn't the exciting forward I was hoping for. Needed, probably but shows how long the list must of been to arrive at his name.
OK then, in that case I would like to suggest Emiliano Sala - a 27 year old Argentinian striker from Nantes. €16.5 million probably won't be enough. We should go in at €22 million.
I'm sure I read somewhere that we wouldn't panic buy in an overinflated market. Wtf is actually going on. Is someone on the wind up or are we actually throwing bids around like some kind of demented geriatric lunatic? It's completely farcical. Surely all these bids and offers can't be true???!!! I'm so confused.
The Wobby are now reporting it: http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...oop-for-west-bromwich-albion-man/?ref=mr&lp=4 So in a day we've gone from trying to sign WBA's best player (in a position we really need), to signing one of their worst (in a position which is less urgent).
