1-1. Good strike leaves Bachman no chance.

We have 2 theoretical DMs on the pitch and neither wants to mark. One isn't really a midfielder though tbf.

 

The White Stripes are from Detroit.

 

Tommy Hosepipe-Ban completely unsuited to a midfield role. Keeps on trying to play the ball forward.

Capoue has been atrocious.
Pereyra hardly involved, as with the K*ln game.

 

I was suggesting why the Austrians might be warmer hosts to D*sseldorf than to us.

 

Navarro doesn't seem to offer a great deal going forward.

Seems pretty all up for us on this display. I think we just try to make the best out of our last season in the Prem and start to plan for getting out of League One in two season’s time.

 

Nice to see us struggling to create any chances against the German Burton Albion.

Bodes very very well.

 

Highlight of the match so far: Hughes booting their left back from behind in the ankle, then, as the player's understandably writhing about on the floor, adding a touching "you don't have to cry about it".

 

Surely we should be copying the England corner routine when we get one? It is clearly very effective and teams haven’t yet worked it out.

 

Like the look of Navarro. Hoban doing a surprisingly good job as a centre mid.

Bachmann looked absolutely crap

 

Hughes pick,of the bunch, we had more possession I would say!

 

The German Wolves, actually. Wulfen, if you will.

 

Navarro looks bang average - like the amalgamation of Janmaat and Kiko, with both the glaring weaknesses of each removed but also their respective strengths (i.e. quicker than Janmaat but slower than Kiko, tougher in the tackle than Kiko but worse going forward than Janmaat).

I don't know what Bachmann has done wrong?

He seems enthusiastic at getting up the pitch, but it's been difficult to see any of the dribbling of Kiko or the quality in passing and crossing of Janmaat.

edit: didn't realise Navarro passed to Gray for the goal - I'd have to see that again. At first glance I thought it seemed quite a simple ball.

 

Good to see Paul Merson at the game and readying his 'Relegation Favourites' list on the basis of pre-season.

 

His dropped cross and pass out for a throw in.

 

I thought Gray has been our best player, along with Hughes. He's held the ball up well, looked sharp, and made some very good runs, not only that for the goal.

Didn't he recover the cross immediately? And which GK has never passed it out for a throw-in?

He has been the most anonymous player on the pitch - even more so than Pereyra. Their central midfield also ran beyond him for their goal, the goal was scored from pretty much the exact area of the pitch a DM should be covering, but he was nowhere.

 

Maybe he had a sneaky bite at one point - that's why the ball went flat.

I know it’s about putting miles on the clock but constantly putting defenders in midfield seems odd.

Sema looks very rusty. Hope he's going to get better.

Sinclair as hopeless as ever. For me, he needs selling, not loaning.

 

Sinclair is a League One player at best. Definitely needs to be moved on permanently.

 

And Holebas still seems to think he is playing in the Strolling Minstrel role...
