He would be best to stick with us and grow as a player. If he fulfils some of his potential there will be more than enough suitors next summer.

If we are spending £40m plus on a player, it won't be Richarlison with the greatest of respect.

He looks a great prospect and there were times in the early part of last season that he looked like a player who might be in that sort of price bracket, but there's no way we'd even consider spending that kind of money on someone who is at this stage just a really, really promising player

And again, unless a miracle happens at mediation, we won't be doing business together anyway. The lad can kick up as much as he wants but I suspect that even if he did a Tevez, you'd find an alternative buyer

We *could* afford the sort of money you'd want, but it would mean he'd be the main transfer deal of our summer and we have a lot of work to do

Never going to happen, I wouldn't worry about it

Out of everyone, I suspect Doucoure is closest to the kind of player we will be looking for but again, the same factors about price and grudges come into play. It'll be a while before it becomes a working relationship again - we had a similar thing with Chelsea. Took us nearly two years before we were prepared to deal with them again, and this one may be more acrimonious than that

Tend to agree. If he wants to move on, he's probably better off giving you another year at least - if he truly is a £50m player, there'll be no shortage of takers if he can deliver for you consistently over a full season

**** me. Just caught a bit of his press conference. He really is a total ****. We should be paying compensation to Everton.

Isn't it nice that we can have a friendly discussion with a fan of a club we've recently come to hate?

If only we could all have friendly discussions with fans of the club we nearly all support!

One bunch of ******** was said to us last year - the other bunch of ******** was said today. You could literally switch clubs around and it wouldn't make any difference LOL.gif .

The difference is that I couldn't bring myself to hate Watford - alongside Darmstadt (another family connection), they're the closest thing I have to a 2nd team

He really is a good old fashion bell end. We won’t be selling anybody to Silva unless they have a game ending injury and he hasn’t realised. The fact that he talks about how he might raid watford shows how delusional he really is.

I don’t really have anything against Everton , the reality is whence was propositioned he should have politely refused as he had only been in post for a few months. But the sad reality for Everton is that he will either be crap and gone by Christmas, or turn out to be good in which case he will be poached by Man U / Arsenal / Tottenham / Chelsea who could all be looking for a new manager by 19/20 , he certainly won’t be hanging around if he gets a better offer.

With regards to Rich, if he really wants to move he will end up in Europe somewhere on loan, but why would he want to move he is playing for the mighty Watford.

To be fair and balanced though, if he does well enough to be wanted by any of those teams you've listed, I'm sure most SENSIBLE Everton fans would be happy because it would probably mean he's done a superhuman job and got them up and near the Top 4 - which with their squad would be mental.

For me though, it would have been nice to see him show some humility today and show that upon reflection of the past 6 months, that he realises he made mistakes. But I didn't see any of that. I just saw the same arrogance he had before and he's done nothing in the game so far to carry that amount of attitude.

As for analysing what he said today, compared to when he joined us, thats par for the course and generic of any manager going any club outside the Top 6. As we all know, the proof is in the actual pudding as far as Silva is concerned.

As for Richarlison - on LOAN?! Come on now.

Yep would have been nice if he had shown some class - but did any of us expect it.

Don’t think a loan would be a bad thing for a Rich, at the start of the season he looked like a future £50m player , by the end he looked like a dodgy international you could pick up for £5m. Be mad to sell him now unless we had a decent offer , ship him somewhere to get his head together , then bring him back and maybe sell him.

I would however be first the to say that I would prefer he got his head together over the summer and played for us next season.

I would say that there is literally no chance that Richarlison is going anywhere on loan. I'm not even sure he needs to get his head together. Just a bloody good rest.

Yeah...plenty of barbecue Brazilian steaks cooked by Papa Gomes when he gets back from holiday. Then a nicely focused pre-season. Hopefully will practice his shooting and crossing. Could do well for us if fit and properly motivated. Needs to delete his agent's telephone number and not speak to him again until May 2019.

He did play about a thousand games in a row, coming straight from the full Brazilian season into our season. I really hope he stays and is reinvigorated after time off over summer.

I remember I was actually in Brazil when we signed him, and my friends over there couldn't believe we'd got him. They saw him (genuinely) as the best young prospect out of Brazil, behind Gabriel Jesus.

The Pozzos are businessmen with a special understanding of football - primarily on the Continent but growing by the year here.
I doubt they will refuse to sell anyone to Everton who they would sell to another club. All that would happen is that for Everton the price would be higher meaning good business for them.
If the clubs really wanted to settle their dispute in secret the smart move would be to sell a player to Everton for say £10m more than his market value. Then refuse to disclose the fee. That way the Pozzos get their compensation and Everton avoid egg on their faces. Doubt that will happen though.

I think Everton will be the only ones who are bothered that this gets settled in secret.

I agree with this bit, but reckon it would be awkward and maybe impractical to deal with them whilst we're still in dispute.
Not sure about settleing the matter by bumping player prices though. Would be much cleaner to just settle it simply, whether disclosed or not; I'm not sure Gino would go for a deal that could easily be reneged.

This is why it’s such a low fee, so Everton get hardly anything. The rest will be made up from future trade between Barcelona and Watford.

Also, any cut Everton get, will be rerouted back to Watford as part of the compensation package.

Everton have come in very handy for their part in this deal.

So if they (Barca) bought him back for 9m euros then sell him to us for 10m, Everton get a percentage of 1m. Boo hoo. This is probably the reason the sale figure is so small, doubtless Gino has sweetened it in a way that keeps the sell on out of Moshiri's mitts.

Well, it's a low fee because he's a very unfulfilled talent, but I take your point

£9m is half of the going rate for Andre Gray. FFS.

Or less than a quarter of a Bayakoko.

That's because he played for Everton.

Cleverley now Deulofeu, had the Everton experience, but much prefer the Watford one. Basically, people that want more than just money go to clubs like Watford. Those that want bigger watches choose Everton. :D

A player who has spent his entire career since 2011 playing in the top divisions in Spain, Italy and England and has played at every level for Spain is an unfulfilled talent?

Jesus, you set a high bar.

I've seen him a lot more than you

Arguably the most talented player I've seen play for Everton, barring perhaps a young Rooney, but he infuriated me because he simply didn't play to his potential anything like enough

Plus there's the fact he has one lung and is made of paper at times

The boy can play though. No doubt

£1m? Oh no, now i'm seething. Call the deal off, no way do I want Everton taking £1m off us.

Behave, that's pocket change to Gino.

If it means we sign a very accomplished right winger from the biggest club in world football, then so be it. Outrageous business again from Gino. Will Hughes and Chalobah for a combined £12m was unreal business, this is just as good!

That's my worry about him signing for WFC, his ability to miss games through seemingly innocuous knocks.

But then reality sets in and I realise we're still a club trying to get a sustained foothold in the Premier League.
Any players we buy will have an obvious fault or deficiency because we're not going to attract seasoned internationals wanting European football.

The best we're going to do is getting the likes of Deulofeu for bargain prices.

It's where we're at at the moment and it's not the worst place to be in all honesty.

Fine, we'll take him then and you can spend the same amount on another instalment for Bolasie or Klaasen. Or even better, you can blow it on financing the love in between Silva and Carrillo.

Conversely, £9m could huge numbers of Toffee Legend Andy Gray.

    Almost too many.
