www.gloryhorns.co.uk All 4 of them will be waiting to take back their prodigal son, the fatted calf has had its last rites.
There's only one thing that would save this forum and that's...... Today's Nice Animal!!!!!!!!!!!!! (An ongoing serial in more parts than is strictly necessary, isn't as good as it used to be and won't happen anyway) But for old time's sake:
Rivals was a good thing, particularly as a log in was valid for other fans' sites, most clubs had an active forum. However it was bought out by Sky and when they tried to implement changes a lot of clubs' fans moved their sites elsewhere. I think it was the time the someone created "The Darkside", but only a few of us went on there. I didn't post much. I signed up to Glory Horns at the beginning but I have never posted there! And I guess this place was started but I didn't start lurking here until around 2013 and I signed up in 2014. https://econsultancy.com/blog/1629-rivals-net-faces-huge-mutiny-among-fan-sites/
Used to be on BWL but no idea of my username. Spent a few hours on gloryholes before I realised I was in the wrong place.
As far as I know the official forum from watfordfc.com was closed due to breakage of forum rules and general abuse towards other posters. It was a nice place before it turned to crap, had some great people who most of now sadly have gone. There was even a rumour GT had an account but it was never proven.
I remember when it was shut down, I can't remember exactly was said as it was deleted by the club's mods before I read it, however it was a rumour from one of the posters about Graham Simpson that he (Simpson) took exception to - I'm sure he considered it libelous. I met Simpsom at a club race night as he was on our table organised by PYA, I remember Tring being on the table as well and so was the poster who put up the rumour - wish I could remember his name. It was Boothroyd's promotion season. Simpson told me that night that he would read the forumsto guauge the fans feelings..
It was also around the time there was the mystery around Marvin King, was he injured or had something else happened i.e. fallout with Betty, lots of rumours!
I think we are suffering from lack of competition. We have allowed ourselves to become inefficient unfocused and flabby. Well I certainly have. We are in no shape to fight off any new pretenders to our crown. We need a new strategy document, 5 year plan etc. Ps we do seem to be pretty unique in terms of the intellectual content of the forum. Mrs TUT assumed time spent in here would typically involve debating "ee was farkin offfside werent ee" "cum over ere and say that you w*****" etc like most other fan sites. God I miss highgrade.
Imagine if the internet was around in the Perryman era. The amount of rumours about players back then was ridiculous. The old fanzines were comedy gold from all the rumours
Was I the only one who read the title and thought that Troy had moved on from giving fans the finger to a more "physical" response to transfer rumours?
If I recall correctly there was something libellous which shut it down for a bit. When reopened on restricted hours then did we not get chipgate? Was pretty awful software, very basic, mind you that was a good while ago.
Chipgate, that rings a bell. I joined here 22nd November 2016 so the official must have collapsed hours/a couple of days later. I remember we were like rats from a sinking ship and "Admin" had been trying to recruit 'followers' in the days/weeks before. Whatever happened to Ian and the arcade games?
Anyone remember the one about the guy who had a gilted girlfriend post stuff about him on BWL. It temporarily went global!

The story continues to have legs: https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/watford-owner-gino-pozzo-denies-12224496
The Mirror, Wobby and Herts Merc have all had their stories removed. Can only find this one still up as of Wednesday evening: https://www.football-italia.net/118815/pozzo-‘no-truth-tax-claims’ I'm guessing Gino has got his legal team on it, to try and keep it out of the news?
Exactly! The article from Repubblica newspaper which relaunched these things was a badly assembled group of rumours and old news from the Spanish enquiry about Quique Pina but hinted heavily about accusations of fiscal fraud from the Pozzo's. Thus Udinese had an official announcement saying they're suing Repubblica for 10M€ and they will do the same to all who circulate the article or similar accusations.
